    Whats up everyone. Got a easy question for anyone. Had a steering hose blow today and need to know what fluid to put back in. Not for sure what it had in it since it all ended up on the street. Thanks!

    YES! And heat! And not sucking dust and spittn' mud. I'll leave that up to the guy I hire on the dozer. If things go good I hope to have a cab dozer one of these days too.. I've always liked the open feel, but the older I get the better that cab looks!

    Thats the machine I'm favoring. I've talked with a local guy who has a 200 and wished he'd went wtih a 160. Said he thought it would be easier to get around. My first job with it will be about 50 ac's of stumps and slash. I would love to get a Wood / Stump Shear one day, but they are recomended for machines 50k plus. I think the 200 would just barely fit on my 35TN Fontaine detach without sticking past the rear, but the 160 wouldn't be any problem at all. I'm torn........

    Thanks for the tips. Just trying to get my mind in excavator gear before shopping and dealing. Tossing around the idea of a Komatsu or Deere 160 or 200. I'll use it for land clearing/stumps, demolition and ponds/lakes. I'm having to turn away to much work not being equiped and I'll probably be hiring an operator, all things I didn't have intentions of ever doing. But hey it's a good thing, right?

    Looking to add and excavator to my arsenal, but not very familiar with them. I've always been a dozer man. Interested in the 40,000k range, 160's. Would really appreciate some tips on what to look out for when buying a used excavator.

    I agree with your feelings toward politicians, but being in business for myself (with no gov. help or bailouts), I'll have to say with what your wanting to do, I think you'll make more money driving a dump truck. Thats a good honest living for sure!

    We welcome new "comers"! I will agree though, I do know a lot of good ol boys. As long as you play by the rules its fair game. The rest is up to you! You never know, Obama might help you pay for some it or at least guarantee it with a good ol SBA Loan . You just never know...

    Rob, After teaching my 5 year old how to tie her shoes, I can now tell you that there is more than one way to tie your shoes. Very creative monster. I hate to wake a sleeping dog, but got to hearing a leak behind the dash today and found this sensor leaking. Its above the gas pedel and the one to the far left with bubbles coming out of it.

    This is what I found when I removed the Plate to reveal the unloader valves. Cleaned it up good and put a rebuild kit in it. This was the final touch to make all well again. I am convinced that a poorly maintained air dryer is to blame. Rob and rhasler, I appreciate your help big time! I'm grateful for everyone on this site for taken time to help out people like myself. Hope I can do the same some day. Live well!

    UPDATE: Replaced air cartridge, purge valve assembly and cleaned base etc. very well. As I mentioned previously changed the pressure regulator and fixed all leaks. Things still aren't right. Air buzzer doesn't go off until about 7o-75 PSI. Also, it seems when you pump out the air that's when the compressor starts to rebuild. Cuts out fine at 120PSI. The only thing I have not done is clean the unloaders in the compressor head. Doing this first thing in the morning. Any thoughts?

    Thanks man! That'll be a big help. I'm going to pick up a rebuild kit for the air dryer tomorrow and see what I cant mess up.

    I have a quick connect on my secondary tank. If I add air to it(2ndry)with the shop compressor should it fill my primary too?

    That makes since, the lowboy bag isn't leaking too bad. The trailer is unhooked and I'm still having the same problem.

    I'd have to be stranded to even use that stuff in a tire. I worked in my dad's shop when I was younger changing tires etc. and I hated when a tire came in with that stuff in it! Hated it ever since...

    Rob, It must be gettn' close to your bed time. I was kiddn'........I sware though, if it were my grand dad, it would run threw his mind.. He'd be off to the dollar store for sure!

    thas great. It's buggn' me not having the air system up to par. After I get this corrected, I've got an air bag on the lowboy that needs to be replaced. Thought about useing a can of fix-a-flat on it.

    I hope the cum pizza is not a family receipe. If it has to be that way, I'm sure it would work well around the Auburn area! WIth that being said, what part of Bama you moving too?

    Thanks for the info and identification. I fixed every possible leak I could find but if it sits for a while it loses pressure. So are there rebuild kits for these? Would I be better off replacing it with a differnt model/kind?

    I replaced the air governor and it seemed to have fixed part of the problem, the compressor starts recovering around 90PSI. Now it is to slow on building pressure. I'm thinking its the air dryer, I'm almost certain it hasn't been serviced in many years. I've had the truck for alomost 4 years now and I sure haven't. Would this cause it to build slow? Didn't know exactly how they work or if they could clog up. Here's a pic of mine if anyone can tell me which one it looks like or anything helpful is always appreciated!

    How often do the pressure regulators go out? This is a lowboy truck, so it sits around quite a bit, so I'm thinking this could be bad for them. Mine isn't but about two years old, but I've got a sneaky feeling. After all they are made in meckeco
