I just towed in another one of my A-Cert's today, a 2007 Classic with less then 500,000 mi, the motor started to knock, driver shut er down and then tried to start it and the motor won't turn. The truck was just serviced last thursday, oil and water were on the money with no codes showing! My guess...these fuc-in junk motors prob broke a rocker and jammed a valve and you know the rest!! I just don't know how a company like Cat can get away with sellin these motors and lettin the cust. holdin the bag?? (bag a shit i might add). Ya know when Detroit had the trouble back in the 80's with the first batch of 92 series, they replaced all the customer motors with the Silver 92's. and people call Detroit's junk?? Yet Cat can do no wrong? If this motor has to come out, I am not gonna fix it, I'm gonna by a W-Star Power Glider and put the trans and rears into it. A Power Glider is a Glider with your choice of reman motor (in my case another nonEGR 575 DD) all I do is give them the ser. # of my truck and they give me a new air ride and I bolt my rears and trans up to it BULLHUSK

You are right it did lock out 2 thru 5 and just LO LO and LO rev. I liked that trans better then the newer ones! I think the truck had 5.13 or 03 rears and did 60 mph flat out with 22 in rubber. The truck with the OD did 70 mph I only got to drive that a couple of times as that truck had a steady driver but couldn't make it to work on Friday (day after pay day) so I would jump in and make the day! Yes the good old days! The garbage co had all the Two Guys stores in Jersey and I never had to buy toys or soap or just about anything sold retail!! We would just pick through the loads and come up with gold! Never bought Beer, they would dump the over and unders on the dump and all you had to do is pick it! P.B.R in Newark Rheingold in NY and Orange NJ all the beer co dumped in Jersey BULLHUSK

I'm talkin with my W-Star guy now about orderin one for a V12-71 power truck, I'll keep you posted also maybe I'll get some pic's of the one I just finished. There was a guy on the Mack or Brockway site that had a brand new unfinished W-Star with a V12 TT-71 sleeper and all!! I can't find his number or remember who It was?? Back in the early 70's a company I worked for had two DM 600's with 237's and (hears where I need help) the Maxi. trans. in one had the side stick for just a lo lo and rev. and the other one had the short stick that was an overdrive and could only be shifted when you were in 5th. These trucks were early Maxidyne's maybe 66 or 67's with gold Bulldogs on the rad's they had roll-offs on them and I would work for this guy in the winter when the concrete was slow. These were awsome trucks!! I have never seen this trans in a Mack, I think they where cast iron?? do any of you guys know these trans.? BULLHUSK

I would want to Call on Bill O'Reilly and by one of those new cat type wheelchairs for our wounded Vets and set up some kind fund so that these guys and gals will never have to want for anything, I know the wounded warrior project does great things for these folks and thank God for them!
