I remember as a kid my Mom would get the Sears Catalog every year, just last week I saw on TV that Sears was in trouble, so the TV guy was askin shoppers about there thoughts and just about all of the Sears shoppers said the same thing......Years ago you could depend on a Sears product, like there power tools as well as there work benches and hand tools an tool boxs, but today it's all made in China and it is real shit! Even some of there Craftsman tools are now made in China

I beleive 1970 was the rebirth of the Barracuda 'CUDA' as in HEMI CUDA and HEMI CHALLENGER and also the 6-PACK 440 cars A-hemmmm LOL Ernie DS........ PS I think the only one that went head to head with the HEMI CUDA was in fact the Buick Stage 1- 455 Grand Sport, I must say that I would not pass up one of those 70 Chevelles if I came across one at the right price! They were cool lookin cars!!

NOW DHATS FUNNY!!!!

WOW, almost forgot about those!! stage1-455's.....Was it in 1977 that Dodge had the fastest production veh.?? The Little Red Express Truck?? Ernie DS

Ya know guys, I Sarted this post a while back cause when I was a kid in the early 60's I hung around with my Dad an his brouthers (he had 11 of them & 2 sisters yeah! 15 kids!) Well my uncle Frank had the landfill in No Arlington NJ back in 60's and I used to get up @4.30 am to go to my cousin Pat's to meet him on a Sat. Morning to go to the dump with him, (about 12 or 13 years old) I did that just to get a chance to drive a TD24 or a TD14 International Bullbozer..Crazy Right!!.. I also hunk around the the trucking terminals that my other uncles worked at, as well as the trucking garages that my dad and my uncles worked at!. I have always loved trucks and heavy equipment!! So as a kid.. I had a GREAT GREAT childhood!! mostly around trucks! So I think about those times often with great pride!! And the memories, well those memories........ for me as a KID and I will never forget them!!... So.................. What A Time It Was!! Thanks for listen, BULLHUSK

Rob, Did not Ford- Fixed Or Repaired Daily make a big stink about the Daytona because thay said they were to fast, even before the Talledaga came out?? cause after the Talledaga they still couldn't catch the Daytona's...... Let's not forget the S/S Dodge & Plymouth 426 Stage III Wedge Motor (one of my favorites) with aluminum front ends and trunk lid an bumpers plus radio delete plexi side windows, no window gear (they used seat belts under the plexie-glass to lift the window and hook it to a fastener on the door) they were and still are the king of the 1/4 mile 11.5 factory cars in 1962 and how about the Hurst Cuda's..... You Shevy an Ford guys just can't touch us MO-tor PA-rts guys Ernie DS

Only this time the tax payers are paying for it!! and the worst part about it is there are people out there still buying it, what the hell is wrong with people today?? I think if some of these same people were at the horse races, they would still want to put money on the horse that just lost the race!! BULLHUSK

umodelnut, I talked to an old-timer yesterday, who was a good friend of my dad's, I asked him about the Dodge / Mack P-U's ( I'm sort of secound guessin myself). What he told me is this, back in the 60's Dodge built some trucks for Macks Firetruck Div, they were heavy 3/4 ton with 9.5' step-side bodies, Mack took them an made them into, sorta like the forest fire trucks that we see in the States and shipped them overseas somewhere, they came in two colors Red or white. Now this was 47 years ago and I do remember the ones I seen were red, and I don't remember what was in the body (they were behind a fence about 10 or 20 yds from us), but I do know they were step side Dodges with Macks name on them, he also said that hey had Bulldog's on the hood, but that I do not remember.Maybe some of our Firetruck members know somethin about them? Thanks BULLHUSK

Yes that is what I saw, I remember my dad bought a new Chrysler 300 in 1965 and we were talkin to the owner of dealership about it (thats how I remember around what year was) he said he never heard of anything like that? Well a couple of days later he called my dad an said he had to take a ride down to see for himself an thats what they were, trucks built by Dodge with Macks name on them, also the same dock would have the Fargo the Canada Dodge for export. The company my dad did work for back then had warehouse's in the port so I would be down there 3 or 4 times a week, I never saw them again all you would see back then was VW Beatles an VW Buses comin in an Dodges an Fargo's goin out BULLHUSK

WOW!! Thank You Mr. David.... For A minute there I thought I was alone on an island LOL Ernie DS

Rob, Chrysler '53-56' had a 291 HEMI and I think Dodge had a 265 HEMI they too were heavy and very weak and problematic untill the 331 thru 392's came along, also do any of you guys remember Dodge putting Macks name on there PU trucks? When I was a kid back in the mid 60's, 65,66 some where around there, there were hundreds of them parked in Port Newark ready to be exported, all with Macks name on the hood and across the tailgate, they were all fender body trucks anyone ever see one??

Stev, If you go back and read my post it says nothing about crude oil that the USA is importing and refining, (we are taking in more then we are using an selling off the rest, good business!) Natural Gas is being shipped out, and those jobs aren't goin nowhere, as a matter of fact the state of PA stands to gain hundreds of thousands of jobs related to the NG drilling. Now what I said is if the drill baby drill people get there own way and the United States starts producing more crude then we need, then we as Americans should not be put into the OPEC pricing game, the crude oil is comming from us. Now I know thats not the way it works today but if we become one of the leading producers of crude oil in the world within the next ten years or so, do you think that the American people shouldn't benefit from it or should the oil co's get all the gravy? If you prefer things the way they are then thats what's going to happen. Stev I'm with you 110% on the propaganda machine of Venezuela and Russia and all the rest of the countries that you listed in your post and Joe Kennedy telling us what a nice guy Chavez is (he has since changed that now It's 'the people of Venezuela' but don't you think the US oil co's should help some of our people? and not a bum like Chavez! Also the reason I brought politics into my post is that some of the laws have to be changed, like some of these speculators that drive up the price of oil and the list goes on an on (I guess we could write a book on that) LOL Oh well!! Anyway good post Stev Regards BULLHUSK

Tom, It' all Good! I'm goin over there tomorrow to look at a couple of A-Cars low mil. old style with the big rad in front, I'll check out the B's an I also know he has a couple of B-81's that he did not want to sell, but that was yesterday LOL!! Ernie DS -
Matt, Thats the best advice ever, when I had my 89 Superliner I kept a spare fan clutch in the side box! Maintenance records are a must now a days, when I bought a couple of trucks from Penski 3 years ago they both had less then 100,000 mi on them but they had all the records on line!! It's all Good!! BULLHUSK

B-61 Parts
bullhusk replied to bullhusk's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Tom, I think thay are blue? some times he throws out some crazy numbers today, but if he sits on stuff, tomorrow It's an entirely different number. I bought a 67 Brockway of of them last year and what he wanted for it an what he took was a different story. I will say this for those people at Devinos they are honest about what they sell, I have bought a engine or two from them with good results! Last year he had a nice R700 V8 for 6,000 bucks, well I hemmed&hawed and some one else bought it and it went to So America Ernie DS PS If any you guys ever want me to stop by and look at anything there just let me know, he's only about 15mi away from my JC garage -
I see a lot of guys lookin for B parts Devinos in Newark NJ just got two nice B61 cut-off's a couple of weeks ago the nose is off one already nice solid B's Ernie DS
