Joe, Back in 1971 when I was 17 I was buildin a 67 Dodge Coronet R/T in my garage at my parents house, well I was just returning home from the Vet.(SHOTS) for our German Shepard (Jinx). Ok so I pull down our driveway an I see a light or something shining in the darkness inside the garage! All of a sudden a guy comes runnin out the door, so I let Jinx loose, an he grabes this guy (as he is goin over the fence) in the ass an takes a chunk of his blue jeans along with some ass cheek with the guys wallet in my dogs mouth!! Mark, I've in an out of the Hospital 8 days total since the first week of June. I've batteling a very bad Prostate infection which spread to all regions south (if you know what I mean) It peaked last Sat with a temp of 104 (I begged them to shoot me no shit!) I returned home Thursday, so now I'm just sitting in my chair with an ice pack an takin my Med's an Percocets every 4 hours. This has happened before to me some time ago but nothin like this, this was a slam dunk that brought me to my knees. The good thing is that It's not Cancer or any thing that Antibiotics can't take care of, thank you for askin about me an I hope all is well with you an your family. Ernie D (BULLHUSK)

There was a big bash down at the Stone Pony in A/P today, in honor of the big man, I could not make it cause of Fathers day, but I've bin told that thay are plaining something this week. He was a very very nice man, one that you would see walkin down the boardwalk in Seaside or any one of the Shore Joints an he would just talk with ya an have a good time!! He was just another one of the guys, an he never forgot where he came from. Bruce just might be the Mack Truck of the Band,.. But Clarence Clemons... Well lets just say Clarence was the Bulldog on the front of Bruce's Band, an we all know a Mack don't look the same without the Bulldog. You will be missed Mr. Clemons BULLHUSK

I drove down by the Mack plant today....I thought I was back in 'WHAT A TIME IT WAS'!! I saw workers out side havin lunch on the pic nic tables, new trucks being Piggy/backed out, trucks beinging freight in, workers with smiles on there faces walkin around an runnin around being busy!! I had to pinch myself!! WHAT A TIME IT IS AT MACK TRUCK MUCHUNGIE PA. The American Worker is far from DEAD!! They just need a chance to prove themselves, an I guarantee... GUAGANTEE!!! that we can out work (with superior workmanship over any other country) an out produce them as well!! The proof is in the pudding At the Mack Assembly plant in PA. BULLHUSK

I was, I guess about 16 at the time? so it was well over 41 years ago, but I do remember that the shift pattern was not your usual R96 10 speed direct! Also back then on most of your O/D trans (if not all) O/D was always to the dash board even on your aux. trans. an on double O/D , both sticks went foward. BULLHUSK

Mowerman, If you go to antique and classic Mack truckG/D on page 5 click on RL700Lpics an you can see one with the low hood an alum doors an budds, its a 71 that i bought in March, it was built in Hayward CA. It also has an alum. frame an a V12-71 Detroit I just received the build sheet an paper work from the Mack Museum on Sat. It was built on June 19, 1971, so her birthday is coming up on Sunday Fathers day, orig hp was 475 a lot of ponies for it's time! Back in the 50's an 60's Fuller made the R96 series 10 speeds with direct an overdrive, the O/D trans. had fifth an rev. to your left side, fifth an 10th to the dash, 1 thru 4 with the H-pattern. I remenber helping my dad with those when I was a kid helpin him in his garage. All they were was a fuller 5 speed single counter shaft trans. with a box bolted to the back end with a big gear an a small gear, operated with a cable an a chrome T- handle that said ROADRANGER across it BULLHUSK

Rob, I might have some older fuller stuff filed in my office i'll check on Monday. I personally like the RTO 15's, They have the best of both worlds a nice O/D ratio an of course the deep-reduction side, which can be progressively up shifted! an also with the older engines, the shifts are close so your rpm's stay up there. We had them behind our 318's an they were a lot nicer then the 13's we had! I think they were RTO9515's BULLHUSK
