  3. I always thought the ST meant six wheel tractor. terry
  4. I would guess maybe the tower rotted out, they will rust out where the tower sides come down to the trunnion. terry
  5. On the window and opener handles the round trim ring right next to the door panel is a spring loaded ring you push in to see the pin. terry
  6. Should be a spring loaded ring on the inner part, have to push in hard to see pin holes. terry

  8. So did they give you a solid estimate? terry
  9. I don't know if the one j hancock has there is the multi piece one where you cut the old out and install new one in pieces. if your replacement is a one piece one, you have to set dump box off, cut rear hinge off remove rear crossmembers and loosen front ones spread frame and slide tandems out, then take it apart. It's a whole bunch of heavy work!! terry
  10. tractor or dump a lot of labor between the two. terry
  11. chock the wheels and slide under while somebody touches brakes, could be a multitude of things, from front to rear!! terry
  12. Is that the door under the bulldog? pretty rare hood? must have a truck waiting for it? terry
  13. Each box has its own overdrive, when you start off in 1st in the main and first in the aux, shift the four in the aux. put the main in second and put the aux.in low split, then direct and then hi split, when splitting the main box you do not use lo-lo in the aux. do this to 4th in the main and the aux. is in hi split. your last shift is fourth in the main and hi split in the aux to fifth in the main. sounds confusing but just takes some practice. terry
  14. have to disagree with a few things, I have seen lots of early RD's with single frames, but the frames are thicker and deeper than a R model. And have seen lots of 38k suspension with factory double frames. I think a lot of the differences are the area they were ordered for, for everyone ordered one way you can find a different one the other way. terry
  15. Should be right behind the fill plug. terry
  16. Generally the first thing you hit with wrong backspace is tie rod end. terry

  23. wedge brakes are terrific when everything is new, but on a truck that has been for years everything gets stuck in them. biggest problem is keeping the self adjusters working. terry
  24. Have not seen one of them air filters for a long time, cab don't look to be in to bad a shape. terry
