    Looks like you have bolts and not studs and nuts for headbolts, be sure to chase all threads and bottom tap and blow out bolt holes. Terry

    I can remember years ago i could walk in to local mack dealer and tell them what i needed, they would walk back and bring out whatever i needed, they even had a injection pump rebuild room, not no more. terry

    The maxidyne engine was used with the five and six speed transmission's, the econodyne used the more multispeed , nine, ten, twelve speed mack and fuller transmissions. terry

    With that set up a 4:17 would be ideal, i once had a DM dump with a 285 engine, 12 spd od mack with 4:17’s and 22.5 tires, engine would turn 2300, and bury the 80 MPH speedometer. It was quite the sleeper! Terry

    Didn't the cover have the excentric in it, and that little pump gizmo would move back and forth to pump the oil? terry

    Might have had the PTO that ran off end of counter shaft. Terry

    Same thing for me Geoff, learned driving dump trucks in the service, 67,68,69, got my first dump truck about “72” got a letter from the state of iowa when cdl’s were starting, that i could self certify the driving, but i think i had to do a written test. Terry

    I think the roof was supposed to be beefed up some way for them roof mounted units, but alot of times it never got done. terry
