  1. I'll bet the MH axle is different than the B from center bolt to center bolt. terry
  2. Another question is liner condition on the piston that let loose. terry
  3. 711 pistons and rings maybe a little hard to find, they are a little bigger than a 673 engine, a running 711 or even a running 237 is a gamble on how long it will run, there are a ton of B models out there repowerd with the 237. 237 parts will be more common. I guess it all boils down if you want it original. terry
  4. very nice, hate to see what that restoration cost ! terry
  5. Is your existing frame good? If so add what you want to back of frame and unbolt trunnion and slide back, I don't know how much you are adding, but this way alot of the time you can have your weld in the trunnion bolt area, helps reinforce the weld area. terry
  6. Also called a shuttle valve. terry
  7. Ha ! love it!
  8. A full 44 rear used to be the cast housings and six spoke hub, a 38 is the fabricated housing with the five spoke hub, and the only difference in a 34 and 38 were the number and thickness of the springs. terry
  9. Definitly different, but I have to say I do like it ! terry
  10. Everybody that I know that bought a used truck with them changed them before doing anything else, I have worked on them, If everything is new they work real good, but a lot of small parts to fail. terry
  11. Very nice find and save ! Also have not seen one of them washer pumps in a long, long time!
  12. Don't know the model no. but some B models did come with a chrysler motor from the factory. terry Think i got the 413 in a B mixed up with the early R models !
  13. I have seen a 38 and a 44 housings on the same tandem before. terry
  14. 34k and 38k rears main difference is number and thickness of the spring leaves, And spring pads and caps. 34k,38kand 44k diffs are all the same. terry
  15. How did they ever get a cat motor in a B61 ? terry
  16. Nice looking rig !
  17. To get 72 with a 9.10 ratio you must be doing some serious overwinding the engine ! terry
  18. Look forward to them winfall wimmin ! terry
  19. Then you will need a 3.86 or a 3.65 set of rears. terry
  20. Next faster would be a 3.86 might be hard to find, I would go with a 12 spd. overdrive T1070 trans, with 4.17 rears you will turn about 1750 rpm at 70 mph. terry
  21. Kingpin on the side with tire worn more on the inside?
  22. I wasn't telling which way to go on the seals, most people don't there are two seals till they get them apart. terry
  23. A lot of people don't realize some of the old macks had two wheel seals on each wheel, hand packed in bearing grease for the inner bearing, and the the outer run in gear oil. With a seal between them, most people would remove the outer seal and run both bearings in oil. Don't know if it takes a different inner seal then. terry
  24. As you look at the front of carrier there is a flat spot to left of input shaft, wire brush this area should be a set of numbers of ratio. terry
  25. No problems don't you give it a second thought. Already forgotten. terry
