    lo-lo is either a seperate lever or a switch on the dash,the selector on the mainstick is reverse, neutral, direct and overdrive some of the early ones were underdrive and direct. Terry

    I was wrong on the reverse on the air shifter, but you are missing the flipper for the lo-lo gear,

    On that B75 i believe the very first ones had the small radiator, you can see the fender extensions on the side.

    I have seen a steel fendered RD with a mack 5 speed and a 4 spd twin countershaft aux. behind it, also think it was an ex oilfield truck.

    maybe just put heavier springs with the cast caps. If you go with the cut off route make sure everything is not worn out.

    Can't help on the numbers, but i do remember R model macks in the mid and later 60's with 318 detroits.

    I can't imagine what a 6-71 would do to a one ton front end!

    They are a real easy engine to adjust the valves while running, and the maxidyne converted i believe is maxidyne liners with the heads scored for the fire rings. terry

    686 Would be a 285 with a 5 or 6 spd, a 690 would be a 300 or350 with a 9 spd mack or fuller. Terry

    That is a bargain for that 12 spd. Best trans. mack ever built! Terry

    When you take them tank straps off, be sure to check tank it self for rust under the straps, It usually gets paper thin there. If so, take some thin strap and weld to tank where the tank strap wraps at. Will save you from trouble later. Terry

    Yes any 72 series with a 0 at the end is a double overdrive, either a TRT or a TRQ. Terry

    No 0 is a single overdrive in the back box, all triplex and quads are overdrive in the back box, A 0 like in a TRQ7220 is overdrive in the front, so there is your double overdrive. terry

    I always thought the "adjustable" part was to keep moving the bottom thrust bearing upward as it wears to keep the axle beam from dragging on the spindle. terry
