I ended up with a hundred and a half for it,which was better than i expected it went up $80.00 in the last five minutes!,i never really got into it for making money, just something i enjoy, and when i get a double or a better one then i have,i usually let them go. (so i can get more trucks LOL!).............................Mark
  6. Nice! glad to see you got straightened out! put a wreath on the grill, that would make a nice Christmas picture for next year! happy motoring!.......................................Mark
  7. I wish i had known! i just sold one on ebay before Christmas! (actually my wife,i'm not good with the computer!) i have been collecting/restoring old toy trucks since i was a teenager,i just got a Buddy L "horse van" and a 1960's Tonka stake body pickup at a flea market for next to nothing!..........................Mark
  8. Have been using Transource for all my service work since moving to VA. Greensboro is only about 50 miles from here,i personally have nothing but good things to say in my dealing with them. My only complaint is as you mentioned, they are S-L-O-W! but i have never brought the truck back to them for the same repair, plus i think it does'nt hurt that Mack is now headquartered literally right across the street!.....................................Mark
  9. Heres a few more..................Mark
  10. A Jersey trooper told me pretty much the same thing, BANG! BANG! STOP! or i'll shoot!..................................................Mark
  11. I am usually on a pretty tight schedule workwise, but personally,i think i would have found the time to stop if'fn i saw this!.....................................Mark
  12. Very neat looking truck! i like the color combination, looks very "old school" when i was a teenager, our local dirtrack had a needlenose KW water truck i got to run a few times 262 Cummins (i think) and a 5X4,it was beat to death, but a neat old truck nonetheless!...............Mark
  13. Thanks Tom,just noticed that myself! pretty rare sleeper on that LT,an "Aero-Liner" all aluminum i believe. Those LT pictures were taken in 1955,so the Chevy in picture 3 would have been brand new!..............................Mark
  14. I enjoyed farmer52's post about old gas stations,so i did a little looking on the interweb,to see if i could find some similar old pictures with trucks........here are a few of the ones i've found so far.........................Mark
  15. Yup,was in Lakeland wed. delivered some store fixtures, had Jacsonville,Orlando X2,Rockledge,Lakeland,then Tampa...........had to dead-head all the way back up into GA. to pick-up a decent paying backhaul........................................Mark
  16. Very neat! i love to see old pictures like these! i only saw one automobile i was'nt 100% sure of its pedigree........my guess, La Salle?........................................Mark
  17. Yup,Looks Legit to me! everybody knows ALL truckdrivers tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothin' but the truth! why just today in Lakeland,FL i stopped to help this young lady who had "misplaced" her underdrawers, good samaritan that i am.................................................Mark
  18. Yup,best thing (it can be difficult,i know) is to try and stay positive,it will get better. From one "Jersean" to another, just remember to stay "Jersey Strong" !........................................................Mark
  19. Last time i was up it was, when i speak to my brother i will ask him, as he lives nearby. It was in really sad shape the last i saw it,but the engine/trans. was still intact...................................Mark
  20. When i started as a local/hourly driver at Atlas van Lines,we had single axle F-models,237-5speeds,then White Road Commander II's 6V-92's 9 speeds, then GMC Astros 300 Cummins 10 speeds, then the last cabovers bought were Freightliners,400 Cummins 10 speeds (these were absoulute junk) one of our owner-operators took a shine to me,and hired me to run his truck while he got married and went on a honeymoon, it was a double bunk KW,444 Cummins with a 13 speed road-ranger,one of the first trucks i drove that was full air-ride,very nice truck to drive,i enjoyed it. I think the last cabover i ever drove was one of those Freightliners,i wanted to keep my Astro, but the boss had them sold, and said i'd be better off in the "shaker" cause it was a twin-screw,and brand new, whata joke! damn thing was in the shop more than on the road, leaked like a sieve! only truck i ever drove that i got to ride in a wrecker MANY times with! i used to keep the business cards for towing companies up over the door! i used to kid my boss that the Freightliner shop had to start a third shift just for our trucks (he failed to see the humor) Driving that Freightliner was what made me decide to buy my first truck!................................Mark
  21. I would imagine pretty close,me myself,i like to use a "hands on" method for determining bust size, kinda' get a feel for things!............................................Mark
  22. I was gonna go with "nice dumper" but i think in this case it'll be "nice caboose"!.......................................Mark
  23. A picture is worth a thousand words (or so they tell me) but a Happy New Year and safe holiday to all my BMT friends!.............................Mark
  24. I liked this H-model too! been trying to figure out what this small tank on the back of the cab is for, any ideas?.................................Mark
  25. Is that the same A-car you posted a while ago Paul? i have only ever seen one other truck(in person) with a factory Allis Chalmers in it,White Freightliner C.O.E belonged to a friend of my dads. Last time i was in Jersey,it was still sitting where it was from the eighties, when it gave up the ghost, someone had stolen the "Big AL" emblems off of it,and taken a pistol to what was left, the engine did seem fairly un-touched though. I agree about the Bison/General kits,IF you don't get one with a warped hood/cab like the first one i built!............Mark
