  3. Glad to hear you guys are alright, deer vs. car, pickup etc. usually does'nt go too good, deer vs. truck, deer USUALLY gets the shit end of the stick! i have been fortunate as to never hit one (have had a few close calls though) last "skid-mark" episode i can remember was with my MH cabover prolly 20 years ago, when i had a GIANT owl fly up from the shoulder, well long story short,he did'nt gain enough elevation to clear the truck fast enough,WHAM! right through the pass. side windshield, what was left got jammed up under the sunvisor, guts and gravy all over the place! came real close to some coffee stained shorts inside as well!.....................................Mark
  4. Looking around on the interweb this morning,i found a few pictures i had never seen before, thought you guys might like them!................................Mark
  5. Thanks for posting this David! i always wondered about that truck,i have an uncle that lives in Riverdale,NJ,and allthough he is not a "truck guy" he said the guy that owns that Mack is quite a "character"....................................Mark
  6. I had the same problem with mine,i had the linkage re-bushed with polyurethane inserts, and kept a close eye on everything (tight, clean, greased etc.) and it was never much of an issue after that, mine was a Mack engine, E-6 400,but a 13 speed Road-Ranger trans................................................Mark
  7. Nice pictures as always Tom,what day were you by Harborcreek? i was in there Wednesday night on my way from Cleveland.....................................................Mark
  8. Personally i have never used the clutch (other than starting, stopping and backing up) i get a much smoother shift without it,don't even know if i'd be able to "double clutch" at this point! it just takes some practice, all trucks/trans. are different, and will respond differently,of course weight, terrain, weather conditions etc. are all factors. Every Mack i've ever driven seemed to run better without using the clutch, but maybe thats just me,i don't know.....................................Mark
  9. What a shame! effin' retards like this are going to be the downfall of our country "naw what i meen"?????????????
  10. Try Iowa80.com they have or can order precut carpet kits for most all makes models and years, hope this helps....................................Mark

  13. They were once available at most mack dealers on the east coast especially, have'nt seen any for quite a while,i have built a few pairs for friends with trashtrucks and wreckers in Jersey. I used black pipe with an angle brace heli-arked about half way up (they are too heavy for the normal stainless fender guides, and will "wobble" if not braced),and a round plate approx. 4 inches in diameter to mount the bulldog and then sent out to the chrome shop for plating, i will try and see if i can find my pictures?...................................Mark
  14. Excellent video! thanks so much for posting it,i sure enjoyed seeing all our members trucks, maybe one day in person?......................................Mark

  17. One of the Alaska Freightways trucks, used to haul everything needed to install the DEW (Defense,Early,Warning) systems during the cold war,and a pretty famous ad for Mack...............................Mark
  18. Yup,put back by the same people that put obama back in! morons!.......................Mark
  19. Make no mistake about it,NO elected political official be it republican or democrat gives a F*%K about blue collar working people anymore!,that i might add is still the backbone of our country, its the "free shit" people that possess all the clout with polititians, lazy no good welfare sob's that think the world (us) owes them a damn living! the countries already morally bankrupt, and the path we just got handed will have us financially bankrupt soon enough, what with the national debt climbing everyday,un-employment soaring, government "bail-outs" etc. how long do you think the countries holding paper on the U.S. (china) are going to keep putting off re-payment? think what you want, but my friends, we as a country are headed down a steep grade with the brakes on fire, and no "runaway ramp"!.......................Mark

  24. Glad to hear all is well,i have family in Jersey, and some of them are in a pretty bad way (weather-wise) with no power, water etc. but coming along pretty good from all reports.........................................Mark
  25. The very first Mack that i drove was my grandfathers 1963 B-61T,END-673,Triplex trans. which we bought at an auction in North Jersey for about $800.00! it had been an old Hess oil truck. I was still in school, and taking auto-shop/bodywork classes,we spent about a month going over the truck, both mechanically and cosmetically,i did all the bodywork and paint (Mack red of course!) this was the truck i learned to drive on,and treated it as if it was my own. Some i my best trucking memories happened in this very truck, the time spent with my dad and grandad,"learning the ropes" i spent the first summer in this truck spotting trailers on our family farm, and doing local deliveries (apples and peaches)............next Mack was a 1972 R-685 that was an old Chemical Tank Lines truck.................Mark
