  2. I wish i had known of Mike (or BMT) back some years ago when i passed his place,i came close to wrecking my truck when i went by,just "rubbernecking"! sure is some collection! if my backyard looked like that,i'd never leave home! some really neat iron thats for sure! i would imagine an MB is something of a rarity in Iowa? thanks so much for sharing the pictures!...........................Mark
  3. I was just curious what the "wench" looks like that comes with the 1969 R-600 in New Orleans?......................................Mark
  4. Personally,i always thought this particular toy tractor looked more like a 1960's Chevrolet "Viking" series cabover, given the timeframe in which it was made,of course the "C" series Ford also fits................................Mark
  5. Best wishes for a happy birthday!................................Mark
  6. Found this on Ebay, kind of a neat truck, but does anyone (besides me) see anything wrong with it?...............................Mark
  7. You got that shit right Ernie! if any of the "big four" ever branch out into LTL furniture delivery,i'm screwed!...........................................Mark
  8. This a nice one,i have one of these as well, they were made by Marx Toys out of Chicago in the sixties,i also have the Transtar II made by Ertl, and several other smaller ones........Mark
  9. Maybe its just me,but after watching this video several times,if you listen closely, this is what i heard near the end............."And i hope you've enjoyed seeing my spectacular cans as much as i've enjoyed showing them to you! happy trucking!"....................Mark
  10. Thanks for posting Jay,i wanted to,but could'nt figure out how! what a crock of shit this "article" is! and there does'nt seem to be a story anywhere concerning modern trucking, that does'nt mention the "big fours') driver retention woes! if you ever get bored,go to the ATA's website, and look at real-world carrier statistics, and it does'nt take a degree in engineering to figure out what the problem is!....being as it is copywrited material, you are not able to "cut and paste" a lot of material thats written, but heres just a small example of whats posted there.........................Werner Enterprizes,Omaha,NE- 99.4% driver turnover rate-reason cited, low, lack of pay....... Schnieder International Inc,Green Bay,WI - 99.3% driver turnover rate-reason cited, low, lack of pay,un-fair business practices J.B.Hunt worldwide logistics Inc. Fort Smith,AR -99.3% driver turnover rate-reason cited, low lack of wages, sexual /racial discrimination Swift Transportation Inc. Phoenix,AZ 99.5% driver turnover rate-reason cited, low, lack of wages, unfair hiring/termination policies,sexual/racial discrimination, illegal working circumstances (ie; falsifing logs,HOS violations) unsafe equipment, and the list goes on and on!,but the common denominator is always MONEY!........................................................Mark
  11. DAMN! i gots $250,i wants to beez a truckdriver! nice camera angle BTW! most interesting thing in the video was them titties! watched the whole thing up,until till she mentioned her "husband"just ridicuous to me what people today will do to make a buck off some un-suspecting idiot!....................................Mark
  12. Makes sense to me! i drove an end-dumptrailer for a short while in my younger years, personally,i did'nt care for it,i was always afraid i was gonna turn the damn thing over! especially with some of the shitholes i was expected to dump into! my boss had a poster in his office with something like "The 10 Commandments of dump trucking" on it,i can only remember one..............."Thou shalt dumpest upon level ground" good advise! i think anyway!....................................Mark
  13. I agree with the others,i see a good many of these in the western states, mainly on road construction projects, but personally i don't know what the advantages are over a "traditional" dump trailer..........................Mark
  14. In my (humble) opinion, the ONLY thing "green" about swift trucks, are the morons sitting in the drivers seat!...................................Mark
  15. Nice pic Vin,thanks for posting!................................Mark
  16. Jim,that was Shop-Rite in Middletown,NY right between 17 and 84,my dad ran produce up there out of South Jersey pretty regularly...........................................Mark
  17. Nice pics Tom! thanks for sharing, glad to see you got your "bird" back,i always liked the 77-79 bodystyle, nice looking cars when done up right................................Mark
  18. Truck looks great Mike! congrats on the award!.............................Mark
  19. Is it all C&W from here on out? or "easy listening"? just curious.........................Mark
  20. Two-Guys was the name of the store, kinda sota' like maybe sears? they did have some of their own "store brand" items coffee, tea, etc. we had two of them near us growing up,one in Vineland,NJ (now a super wal-mart) and another in Glassboro,NJ (now a K-mart) i still have a power drill from the tool department that works like new,and it has to be at least 40 years old...............................Mark
  21. These (the tractor) are VT-903 Cummins powered? or maybe another one i read a story about a Big-Bud? or something like that maybe? and not to worry about the "sweet tea" incident spilled? yeah right!,it happens to a lot of non-OTR rookies! LOL!....................Mark
  22. I had one of these MVT trucks pass me awhile ago, thought sure the trailer doors were open at first glance! A lot of carriers are going with all this "Aerodynamic Crap" personally,i don't see (or have heard) where any of it makes enough difference in mileage to warrant putting it on the trucks and trailers. I have however seen many bashed up fairings, skirts tore-off on railroad crossings etc. i've also seen some of the big carriers putting decals on the trailer that says "do not exceed 45 degree angle when backing,as severe damage may occur" well duurrr!............................................Mark

    B'day boy:

Idiot,no,maybe just a guy that likes what he likes?......................................Mark
  24. I spend some time on Hanks truck pictures, and always look for something familiar to me,or with a connection to my beloved home state, came across these and thought some of the guys in the northeast would get a kick out of them (Bullhusk,T-bone,etc.) for those un-familiar,Shop-Rite is a large grocery store chain based in Elizabeth,NJ and Two-Guys was a department store,no longer in business.I remember seeing trucks like these when i was a kid,and it brought a smile to my face seeing these!...................Mark
  25. Those aussies are a unique bunch! thats trucking under some tough conditions for sure1 i don't know if i'd have the "balls" to do some of what they do,but i doubt any of them would entertain 16 stops in NYC either!..................Mark
