  1. Man,you hit that nail on the head! i could'nt agree more,i always thought you should spec a truck according to its vocation, heavy duty work= heavy duty components period! i cant remember how many "lightweight" dumps, mixers etc. i've seen on the back of wreckers in the past few years. And if i have to spec a truck so i can scale 50,000 lbs. i'm looking for a new carrier,i've seen a bunch of light speced "road" trucks with both super singles and one fifty gallon fuel tank! almost every truck i saw stuck last winter was riding on super singles. The carrier i'm leased to tried one lease trailer with super singles on it,after about a year they asked great dane to PLEASE put duals back on it! or take it back! just as you said, one goes flat, you're pretty much dead in the water, can't "limp" in somewhere to have it repaired/replaced and a lot of your smaller shops don't have or even carry them..................Mark
  2. Woo-Woo! i like" Re-entry" myself!...................................Mark
  3. Meanwhile back at Daingerfield HQ,alien Randy (dressed as a human) scans the horizon for the much needed sub-atomic hyperdrive bearings needed for the return trip to cluster 14...............................Mark
  4. Have to see if i can find it,only have one picture and it was before we got it,it was owned by a local oil co.in south Jersey where i grew up,they traded /sold their Brockways in on all new R-models.....we used it on the farm up until my grandfather retired in the early eighties,he sold all the trucks and farm equipment at auction, including the 1963 B-61 T tractor that i learned to drive on!...........nice truck btw! i've seen the videos of the Cortland show, sure looks like a great time......................Mark
  5. Ats' my story,an' i'm stickin' to it........................................
  6. LOL! was'nt sure myself,but i took a shot.
  7. LMAO! love to,but Mrs Vision is more of a "mustang girl" that really is a nice truck,i'd love to have it,so hard to find without a detroit in it,and huskydrive too? first (and only) Brockway i've ever driven was just like this one, with the exception of 1693 CAT power, and a 14 speed spicer SST trans, also a great truck, wish my grandfather had never sold it..............i gotta get my ass up to Cortland sometime, don't want that show to be a "bucket-list" type thing.............................Mark

  17. Should you ever decide to "run a load off by hand" make damn sure you don't pickup up the "Lava" hand soap by mistake, the outcome can be both painfull and costly!.................................Mark
  18. If you find anymore let me know! my wife hates it that i save all my old truck magazines, but i still like to re-read them, look at the pictures etc. i see you have them in order? that Sterling wrecker in the new WOT is one hell of a truck!,i gave it a pretty good looking over at Colfax last year. i'd like to see if i can find that book mentioned in the story, " A man and his truck" bet that would be interesting to read!.....................................Mark
  19. I gotta agree with Joe D. in my opinion the American dream is what you make of it,different for everyone willing/able to work for it.......................BUT, if you want "free-shit" welfare, foodstamps, handouts, spanish as a second language, dumbass labels on everything for your "protection",then friend, you have come to the right place!...................Mark

  24. First thing i checked when i got home just now, congrats on the "new" truck Rob! you know my feelings on the western R's (yet another one thats NOT in my driveway!) sure looks to be in nice sound shape, its getting hard to find the RL-700L emblems in any shape these days. I like the idea of preserving its history, personally the only thing i would do is maybe put an Able-Body or Rest-Rite on it........other than that, i like i just the way it is and glad its gone to a good home!...........Mark
