    Mike,thanks for posting those pictures! i always like to see the "old" ones especially next to a current picture of the same truck. I always liked the "horseshoes" on the Ralph G.Smith trucks,as well as their color scheme,thought it was very classy looking. I was by their place many times over the years,i wish now i'd have stopped one day and took some pictures...........................Mark

    These were called "steering rigs" by hotwheels introduced in the late seventies,early eighties,in addition to the U-model,there were also a GMC General,LTL and CL-9000 Ford,and of course the "brand-x" peterbilt and KW............as you prolly guessed,these command quite a price with collectors nowadays. The Mack is especially hard to find in good condition,i lucked out with mine,got it at a yard sale...........................Mark

    Just got my new one yesterday,saw that too,thats a hell of a truck! i saw the video on youtube................i kinda like that single axle Autocar thats for sale in there too,along with the R-model (except for the freightliner frame)..................Mark

    Atta boy Mike! quite the story,B-model looks to be in nice shape,i'm glad you caught up with it,i had a similar experience once,not a Mack,but i chased down a NICE Hudson Hornet, all original,paint ,interior etc. still owned / driven by its first owner,think it had something like 52.000 original miles on it,a sharp car!.........................................Mark

    Found this picture over on Hank's,thought it might be of some interest over here. Caption with the original picture says this E-model is still used occaisionally on local jobs,evidenced by the modern cars in the background,and the 2009 Jersey inspection sticker........................Mark

    That green and white transtar is a good looking truck,i always liked that paint design on them. I only was able to drive one,but it was not an "eagle" just a plain simple C0-4000 with a "nine-o-nothin'" cummins in it................................Mark

    David,can't remember where i read the article,but i believe this one,and a handfull of other "show trucks" are in the hands of a private collector somewhere in the midwest,this one,the one that pulled the reefer with the frozen whale inside,the "Boss truck" the Bandag bandit, the "super boss"and there was also a cabover freightliner with an alllison aircraft engine if i remember right....................Mark
