  1. Unique truck to say the least,i've only ever seen a handful of Hayward F-models with factory dual headlights,be something to see it restored to its former glory......seems to me i read somewhere Mack was not happy with his exploits, and dropped him as a sponsor. Also seem to remember his last touring truck was a KW?..............Mark
  2. Never truer words were spoken! especially as technical as the world has become, stay in school,do the very best you can,or you may end up being a truckdriver!...............................Mark

  4. http://www.tenfourmagazine.com/feature/2010/5.html Some nice pics Vin! thanks for posting them! the first H-model is (was) owned and operated by Joe Mustang out of California for many, many years. I was fortunate enough to have met Joe,and chat with him for a short while when he was still truckin'he was having his tanks done at the polish shop i use in Montebello,CA (Caliva's truck polish)a unique individual to say the least! its been said many times, but they broke the mold when they made him for sure!a true credit to the trucking industry! Joe's gone now,but his beloved Mack has found a new home with someone who knows what it represents........................Mark

  17. Had to attend the company i'm leased to's bi-annual safety meeting in harrisburg this morning, and later while chatting with the woman who does all the truck related paperwork, tags, insurance, logs etc. it was brought to my attention that my tractor is beyond its years (insurance, and company policy wise) and not much had been brought up because of my performance/on time record (100%) after i explained that my tractor is meticulously mantained, spotless, not a nick, scratch' dent in it,and that i have NEVER been down,or late with a truck related problem in 12 years, her answer was "well you might still want to start looking into a newer truck" which my reply was," i have absoulutely no intention of buying a new truck, especially given the current economy, and the growing list of EPA bullshit that goes with it,DPF,urea etc" nothing final yet, just makes me mad that something like this is part of your reward for hard work and dedication, epspecially after covering a load (14 stops) originally assigned to a "new" paccar product (2011 KW) in the shop with "computer problems" and a bad injector cup at 50k miles!............................................Mark
  18. Yup,thats what i saw on the history channel one night about famous foods,it also said he supplied countless tons of canned food to the military during WWII..............Mark
  19. LMAO! thats funny! aint got my wife talked into a truck (yet) but she CAN tell a B from an R-model,knows a "western" R when she sees one, calls my truck a CX,not a "pinnacle" so i may keep her!.......................Mark

  21. I have been past that place once or twice myself, never had time to stop and look around,i do remember seeing some of those trucks for sale in wheels of time a few years back, made a point to say the striped trucks were all painted with Dupont Imron,i remember thinking the cabover Diamond Reo seemed to be in nice shape!....................Mark
  22. Well i read that in virginia not too long ago,the government proposed "piss testing" for both the long term un-employed,and welfare or public assistance freeloaders, but of course the liberals shot this down because it infringed on their civil rights! Meanwhile the rest of us get to pay for these lazy bastards to sit around and do nothing! i am a firm believer in there is a job out there for those willing to work, granted might not be CEO,Captain, movie star, blimp pilot etc,but a job nonetheless! 43 weeks extended un-employment my ass! give em' a shovel, paint brush, trashcan etc.put them to some usefull task, highways littered with trash their other lazy bretheren cant be bothered to throw away, buildings covered with graffiti i'd damn sure put em' to work! (and not the fun type work, seen onTV) galls me to hear people whine about how bad they have it,when 95 percent of its their own doing!..........................Mark
