  1. Wish my grandad was still around,he was something of an "expert" on Oliver tractors,he could recount facts and figures on anyone you ever heard of! we had 4 Olivers on the farm growing up,along with an 8-N Ford and a Massey-Ferguson. Randy, you know you can get drummed out of the corps for just THINKING about buying a peterbilt dump truck right? just nonsense, like a corvette station wagon, serves no real purpose! whereas a Mack dump truck is as famous and as good an idea as a peanut butter an jelly sammich! just cant beat them! especially an R-model ! might be a bit jaded, and many have tried, but they have never come up with anything close to a Mack dump,(or any vocational type truck in my mind anyway)............................Mark

  5. Sorry to hear about the CX,know i'd be lost without mine! gotta agree though, there is not much to protect the "internals" on the front end of a CX,but that definately sounds like a bloated estimate for sure. Good looking Superliner though! E.W. Wylie still runs mostly Macks, but most of the older ones i've seen have suffered some HARD winters! this one looks to be in nice shape, suprized i have not seen it around,Boones Mill,VA is only about 30 miles north of me,hope it all comes together fro you!.......................Mark
  6. 20 years for me and my wife, had to laugh about the "better decision" LOL! feel the same way here!...........................Mark

Being a Jersey boy, born and raised,of course i am not easily offended, nor offended by others opinions, comments etc. so that said,i have have to agree with the "piss on em'" attitude as well, this is supposed to be both a FUN and Mack truck site!,been my experience that the two should be able to co-exist without the damn whining of a few miscontents! personally,i enjoy the "off color" humor and the occaisional "non politically" correct topic i'm glad that good sense prevailed in the poll, this site is just like TV,dont like what you see? change the channel,or better yet,TURN IT OFF! i do basically NO internet socializing with the exception of BMT,and am glad to consider all the folks i've met on here (whether we;ve met in person or not) friends!....................Mark P.S. cept' Randyp,(little too goodie two shoes for me)
  11. With my somewhat limited knowledge of "boobies" my guess is real, but then again i do prefer "factory equipment" but not at all opposed to putting a MUCH bigger engine in say,a Corvette.......... does'nt really hurt the appearance or the value in my opinion, fake or real,i like em' all,the bigger the better!.........................Mark
  12. I'll give up my beer when they pry it from my cold dead hands!.....or somethin' like that......................Mark
  13. I got a nice jacket when i bought my truck, but not a whole lot since,i agree they sure dont give you all the little things they used to,last time i was in a Mack dealer i wanted to look at some new truck brochures, and was told "their mostly for persective buyers" and are under lock and key! hell, when i was a kid, everytine we went to a truck dealership we always got a little something,be it a hat keychain etc.nowadays its like pulling teeth to get a pen or anything!......................Mark
  14. Nice! i sure enjoy seeing stuff like this, especially when there's a what, where, why etc. that goes with them,a part of trucking history for sure. I wish i had more pictures of my familys equipment from the "good ol'days" but, seems nobody took all that many, the few that i do have are all real treasures (to me)............................Mark
  15. Was reading some news tonight, and came across an article about the National Christmas tree, short piece, but said it was delivered by a specially decorated Mack truck this year, sure enough, there was a new CX ! here are the few pictures i could find............................Mark
  16. LMAO! now thats funny right there! no offense taken (by me anyway) my dad always said "Automatic trans. in a big trucks' like weak tea, only good for old ladies and sick children!"..........niether of which belong in a truck!........................................Mark
  17. Know just how you feel,i bought a generic airbag part on my way home today from Virginia truck center (freightliner/kw) they wanted to give me a hat with VTC/ FREIGHTLINER on it..........had to politely decline, thanks, but no thanks!.............................Mark
  18. Make sure she can take "dictation" BEFORE you put her on the payroll!.......................................Mark
