  1. That could be a nice one Al! I always liked that style A-Car,used to see one as a boy around South Jersey,a tractor with a Mercury sleeper on it,not a show-piece mind you,but a real sharp truck. I saw it sitting still once and had a closer look,it was Cummins powered, two sticks, did'nt know any better back then, but it was on a Reyco suspension! pretty rare back then to see what we considered a "West Coast" in Jersey, much less a conventional!....................................Mark

  9. Some great pictures as always Rich! thanks for posting for those of us that couldn't be there. I REALLY like that oldschool brown, gold and white 361 with the small sleeper on the second page,my kinda' truck! only thing I would do is put the original headlights back in the fenders, they look "odd" to me with newer quad headlights................................Mark

  11. Found this on a model truck website and thought it was worthwhile posting, someones interpretation of a "what if" truck, what if Mack had used to Budd cab to build a two story Falcon like Ford did? might have looked something like this? Wonder what it would have been called?.......................................Mark
  12. I wish I had taken some pictures of it,but one of these sat next to a house on U.S. Route 40 in Carneys Point,NJ for 20-30 years, but was gone the last time I was through,i always thought it was home-made,never knew they were factory built..........................Mark

  20. As many of you know,i am originally from South Jersey, and belong to the historical society of my former hometown (Elmer,NJ). They were contacted by a publishing company regarding a book about the towns agricultureral history (Arcadia publishing makes photographic books about American small towns, amusement parks etc) They had been through the archives of the local newspaper (Elmer Times) and were curious about some old pictures and voter registrations they located, and asked if anyone could provide further info. One of the pictures is dated 1947 and has "Wright" (my last name) and contract truckman written on the back.Low and behold the man driving the Chevy truck is none other then my Grandfather W.J."Pop" Wright Sr.! In a picture I didn't even know existed till a few weeks ago. I am providing some background on our families history in the area,as well as our contribution to the trucking/farming business.I only wish I was able to send them the picture of Pops AK-6,but it is in too bad a shape to restore or even scan. Be quite something to see some of our history in print!...................................Mark W.J. Wright Sr. delivering a load of mixed produce to Swedesboro Auction house circa 1947
  21. Nice pictures as always! I believe the car for sale is actually a 52/53 Chevy? been awhile since I been in the Warren area, but them trucks must have been there for some time,i remember seeing them for sale in Wheels Of Time maybe 10 years ago?.................Mark
