  1. Heres a good one!............................V-12 Brockway.............................Mark
  2. Geez guys! i'm usually on the same page with pretty much everybody on this site, but gotta disagree with the Chevy thing! far as i'm concerned a small block chevy is bulletproof! would'nt consider anything else in a streetrod or hobby car. i do find some good in all makes/models,but fords are WAY expensive parts/buildwise,i never knew what was up with Mopar! i put a 327 into a 1958 chevy dumptruck 20 years ago for a friend who runs a landscaping businessmstill going strong today! the 350 in my 70 pickup has only been apart once, and that was just to ";freshen up" the top end (cam, lifters etc.) 146,000 miles and has never let me down.........................."Bowtie" Mark LOL!
  3. That was pretty much what i was thinking,as little welding as i do anymore just an un-needed expense. I just really thought might be usefull to free up an extra hand, but when replacing rockers i guess the old "tried and true" method works best for me (tack/vise-grips)............Mark
  4. Hey Rob,while on the subject of welding,i was wondering if you have ever used "kleekos" i am going to replace the rockers/cab corners on my pickup this winter, and they seem like a good idea, but i have never used them and just wondered if worth the trouble,thoughts?................Mark
  5. I can tell you from firsthand experience,if a truckdriver said it,IT HAS TO BE TRUE!.......................................Mark
  6. Larry, just an un-educated stab in the dark, but are you SURE your stretch is true/sqauare? my dad had the frame stretched on his 85 Peterbilt, and developed much the same problem,it seems the framerails were not exactly sqaure, which allowed the differentials to be "cocked" about an 3/4 inch, and made a terrible vibration upwards of 60 MPH,the frame shop located the problem AFTER chewing up a new set of steer tires,it was such a small amount of travel,it was not noticed right off,and not thought to be the problem, but after being corrected all was well......just a thought,..........................Mark
  7. Hey Ernie,you got that right! LMAO!....................Mark
  8. I was going to say the grille looks like a 46-47 Dodge truck, but the rest does'nt seem to fit with the vehicle, maybe something homemade?...............................Mark
  9. Saw these pictures of some RW's with what looks to be arabic? writing on them, also notice the position of the headlights, some export only option? never seen that particular set-up before, looks a little odd, after seeing "normal" Superliners for so long............Mark
  10. See needs to be careful! too close, might burn one of them "taters"!.....................................Mark
  11. I will do my best!.................Mark
  12. Damn! must be gettin'old, almost forgot the most important part!........Mark
  13. I agree!..........Mark
  14. Somethin'like 2 grapefruits in a pair of knee socks? maybe a scarf for cold weather?
  15. Trent,i like the top right picture,sharp!.........Mark
  16. Seen this, and just could'nt help posting, allthough i have always been a "Pepsi man" myself, i'd prolly make an exception in this case!...............Mark
  17. Never saw that comin" ats a good one!..............Mark
  18. Yup! 41 chevy hit the nail on the head! being an ex-bedbugger myself,i have always been interested in the history of the moving and storage industry,i have some old records from my former employer (Atlas Van lines) and in 1967 1 in 3 tractors either leased or company owned was an H-model Ford! and as stated, they were more commonly referred to as "two story falcons" hard to find any vintage moving memorabilia WITHOUT a picture of a Ford on it!,they were VERY popular with movers,in my opinion, the only truck that was more popular with movers because it stayed in production longer, was the GMC Astro/Chevy Titan 90.................Mark
  19. Ernie,i would have to agree with Rob on this one, buddy of mine in Jersey went the other way(,Brockway cab on wrecked F-Model) and other than some minor "surgery" everything fit just fine,as far as i know only diferences in the wiring would be truck specific,ie: type engine, trans, gauges, accessories etc. we did have to drill a few holes for things not on the Brockway cab,and as i remember the cab jack set-up was a little different than the Mack,as was the piping for the air-cleaner inlet we also encountered trouble getting the hole for the shift tower lined up right,,but the Brockway cab was 2 years older than the Mack at the time. And it took the best part of a week to get the cabs swapped out,not a particularly easy job!.................Mark
  20. Hey Barry, don't know if you can use this one,as there is a lot going on in the background, but this has always been my favorite picture of my CX...................................Mark
  21. Thanks for posting that Ernie,i am glad you took the time to do so,i was working yesterday, time i got back was "zero dark thirty"! i was in Long island city that day delivering a machine to the Coca-Cola bottling plant, when like most everyone else,i heard about what was thought to be an "accident" little did we know! as the morning un-folded,i got empty, was un-able to leave the city, once it was determined it was no accident,i was put on stand-by,because i was still leased to Atlas Van lines then, and pulled a specialized trailer (temp.control, liftgate, inside crane, etc.)it was thought it might be needed to transport wreckage/evidence etc.but nothing did come about. I have a lot of people to thank for helping me the 3 days i spent in the city, especially the family owners of a little restaurant, that fed me,and let me get washed up,they made 100's of meals to take to all the people at the scene. Let me use their land-line so i could let my family know i was ok. talked to a guy the next day with a B-81 dumptruck, who had volunteered his services as well,he came armed with a shovel/big ass truck! he was a retred FDNY fireman, and noticeably upset, but we got to talking trucks, and i think he felt just a little better. It was indeed a bad day,but i will always remember how we as Americans came together, and did the best we could to help the pros out! FDNY,NYPD,Transit etc. and just how forunate we are to live in the greatest country in the world!.......................Lest we forget!.........................Mark
  22. I heard that too,and people WONDER why there are no jobs to be had in this country! i wonder when (and if) people will wake up and do something before its too late? everyone seems to have too much "entitlement" these days.........Mark
  23. I know thats right! i have delivered to union jobsites, wholly christmas!!! anything wooden, kitchenlike must be unloaded by a "plumber" TV's lamps etc. by an" electrician" any woooden crates must be handled by a "carpenter" not 1 but TWO 30 minute breaks before noon, then a 2 hour lunch, from which most of them came back drunk! long story short,i was almost two days delivering the shipment, which under normal circumstanses should have taken no more that 4 hours!..........i have nothing against union workers, but they have priced themselves out of a job as far as i'm concerned, and have no one to blame but themselves, personally,i see NO REASON someone at the Ford plant should be making $90.00 an hour to put in two screws on a rear view mirror every 5 minutes, but maybe thats just me!.........Mark
  24. Lay in the shade, pant, fart? hell iffn' you was to add drinkin' beer, that could be me!..........Mark
  25. Tom,in my opinion, they ARE worth saving! even the most common parts are getting harder to find, and not a whole lot is being reproduced, even if they are "too far gone" there has to be something usable, even if dismantled, cataloged, stored, chances are SOMEONE in this hobby will need something missing from their project, think about how many times someone on here is looking for a glovebox door, vent window frame, heater emblem etc,the "little" parts are surely worthwhile saving, and if you look at it as an investment, maybe a small amount of money can be made in the sale of the parts....i mean check the price on a GOOD set of used B-model doors(if you can find any)and you'll see what i mean..anyway,just my 2 cents!...........Mark
