Yep,remember all that! pharos was commonly know as "mini skirt junction" for just that reason,used to be a good place to stop,never had a problem finding a spot to park,good food too. but youre right,"good" truckstops are few and far between these days,maybe a handfull left in the whole country! remember big John Trimble too, WRVA? i think it was,he always played good music,seemed to have a genuine concern for the people that listened to his show.....geez,thats been awhile back! i think one of his sponsors was truck enterprizes in richmond? he used to do a "ask the mechanic" thing too,it was richmond Mack that answered the questions if i remember correctly. Jeez,the all-americans been closed for a while,i was told it had to do with health code violations,structural problems etc. with no money to repair. I fell into the 104 cluster#$%k/trap awhile back myself,so dont feel bad LOL! just about all the "good" truckstops along there are gone ,remember Jarrells before the all-american? Speed &Briscoe?( T/A now) i always liked the petro at the 104,but i dont do "flyin'hooks" no matter what,dont like em" never did!......................Mark

Screw the needlepoint,yoga,etc. when i find myself stressed out,always makes me feel better to load a stripper clip in" Uncle Sam" (my trusty M-1 garand) put a couple dozen rounds into various objects,kinda makes all the BS kinda fade away!...................Mark

Now thats quite the grillin outfit! an i agree with Rhasler,the "grillin'shack" looks to be comin'along nicely! i'm gonna take you up on that offer some of these days,i have a few truck drivin stories i'm sure i could bore everyone to death with! i havent had much of a chance to do any outdoor cookin since i been home,its either raining,or lookin' like its going to for 2 days now. kinda had my heart set on a nice thick t-bone,but after pricing them i changed my mind! settled on some nice sweet itailan sausage,with peppers and onions,homemade tater salad,an a big ol' can of bushes baked beans............Mark

Just returned from a LLLOOONNGG trip,hit the west coast with a vengeance! i been out a little over a month,damn glad to be home! i have exausted my current contract,finished up with the final delivery this past wednesday in riverside,CA brought back a load of fiberglass insulation to the Lowes dist.center in statesville,NC today. just got started catching up on the goings on on here, GEEEZ! i did'nt know i was such an integral part of the "community" on here! Maybe its just me,but that American trucker guy REALLY gets on my nerves! too hyper for me,stopped watching for that reason,i'm sure i'm in the minority,but i never liked that trick my truck either,too much goobered-up bullshit for me,same as most truck shows now,all KW and petes,lets see who can put the most shit on one truck,and dont forget the 6000 watt stereo,and suicide doors,and a bumper you cant get a sheet of paper under!
