  1. Hot Damn! must be nice to have all that cabbage to throw around! 2 watches,AND a new "unit"???? well,my unit also came from wal-mart,but i had ta take it away from the previous owner, all this meal cost me was half a box of .22LR,the feast begins soon,we're having Chinese Chicken tonight,(cat)and a mixed grille of what i found between here and the mailbox................Mark
  2. A proper gas to fire ratio must be carefully maintained and monitored at all times,or the impending explosion could be quite devastating! chillidogs/beer/tacos= nitro-methanol,plus methane X2,divided by open flame, looking at old trucks instead of watching gauges in the X-14 (pride of the U.S.A thong balloon) Daingerfield and many neighboring areas could be levelled!.........Mark
  3. Good deal! i did'nt want to have to remind you about item 3,paragraph 14 of the BMT photographic handbook!..................Mark
  4. Was looking at some pictures on Hanks, and came across a few from a company which was located right down the street from where i grew up in Jersey,P.E.Kramme Inc. they have used Macks exclusively since the 1920's and were always sharp/well maintained, here are a few pics. of some of there late model equipment, and if you go to their website, click on the CH,there is a nice slideshow of some vintage Macks,AC,A-50,B,etc...........Mark http://pekramme.com/index2.html
  5. Nice pictures Tom! i like that cutlass,a good looking car,i always liked that color. I have been by that Diamond Reo dealer once or twice at night,so i was never able to take any pictures.I use those Alcoa "hug a lug" caps on my truck, they kinda thread on the lugnuts, seem to work good, and the ones on back cover the whole hub, bout' the only thing i dont like is there made out of plastic.Been on the truck almost 10 years now,and still look new,i have only replaced one, cause it got scratched..........Mark
  6. Congrats on the trophy! sure is nice when you put so much time and effort into something, and be recognized for it!...Mark
  7. Rob,personally i'd stay with the 13 speed, been standard spec in every truck i've ever owned with one exception,i REALLY dont like 10 speeds! never did! ease of operation, dependability, smoothness of shifts, you just cant beat a 13!...............Mark
  8. Older pickups are also at a premium in virginia, good clean used truck down here sells for top dollar, even have a few small dealers that re-sale nothing but used pickups. Down here,Ford seems to be the big seller,i see a lot of them running around, but i have been offered 17K for my 1970 C-10 Chevy! but prolly never sell it,had it since i was 15,lotta memories in the ol' girl!..............Mark
  9. Now you damn skinflint! iffn' you'd just work a little harder, haul more dirt,(keep your engine running forwards)you'd have enough money to get A/C in Killerb! Me, i'm starting to think about pulling a reefer next summer,i'll turn the damn thing down to zero while unloading! way too fat, old, lazy to sweat like this! LOL!.........Mark
  10. I guess everyone is dealing with this heat in one way or another,i personally don't remember it being this hot for so long at one time.I have a digital thermometer inside my trailer, and today while un-loading it was up to 123 degrees! (no shit)..........i guess everyone has prolly seen the classic movie "Cool Hand Luke" with Paul Newman? well, let me tell you, that bear was sure walking the road today boss!i bet i've drank 10 gallons of water today! had about enough of the summer, come on winter! i'd much rather deal with snow asshole deep to a tall giraffe then summer heat!..........Mark
  11. Thad, congrats on the truck! looks good,i'm sure you will be happy with it,birthday present ay? maybe you should talk to my wife, give her some pointers on a "proper" birthday gift for the Mack enthusiast!............Best of luck, and have fun!........Mark
  12. I agree,it galls me to see sellers (no one here mind you) that use the threat of "sending it to the scrapyard if i dont get 50K for it" be it Mack trucks,or other "vintage" vehicles,i just saw a nice useable Studebaker lark get crushed down here not to long ago, because noone would pay the asking price ( a ridiculous $5000.00 )............Mark
  13. LOL! even up in jersey ,we yankees called a grill a grill! you're right on the money with what i thought a "unit" was! but you gotta remember,flatbedders/peterbilt drivers are NOTORIOUS for bumping their heads, causing dillusional thinking/impaired thought process?..............Mark
  14. Can we get an AMEN?!!! i agree,my eyes aint what they used to be!............Mark
  15. Gotta agree there,i have a set of MAC flex handles as well, real good tools! i also have a small socket set from Mac that i carry on the truck with a unique design, its called a "side-winder" works just like a traditional ratchet, but has a "faucet" like handle on the end of the bar, which can be used like a speed-handle,and it also has a very handy universal joint, one of the best tools i own for getting into a confined space. I also like the fact that the sockets "positive lock" on the ratchet, making them damn near impossible to drop off!...............Mark
  16. LMAO! me too! when i read "new unit" i was thinking something completely different!........Mark
  17. Might try this link, or PM John,he's a member on here (Heavyhauler)he may be able to point you in the right direction.............Mark http://www.allvintagetrucks.com/products-1/operators-manuals?Page=2&Items=12
  18. I have a set of SK impact sockets i've had for years, been damn good! but i gotta go with Randyp, most of my current tools are Craftsman, have always liked them, gave me good use/service. BUT,i dont make my living with them,so they serve my pupose!..............Mark
  19. It,it,its a red swingline,yes a RED swingline!..LMAO!...............Mark
  20. No,nothing really wrong, just age, vibration, metal fatigue over the yaers of use, seen many an R-models suffer this problem, good thing is,that its a relatively simple fix if it needs to be done.......Mark
  21. Thought i might be the only one who thought like that! i like a single stack on a daycab, but think RL/RS/RW sleeper trucks looks "balanced" with dual exaust.........Mark
  22. Superliner here does'nt look bad either....Mark http://cnj.craigslist.org/cto/2460519340.html
  23. Last nickel i had had a buffalo on it!.......Mark
  24. Thats what i like to hear! what engine is currently in the tractor? power steering as Rob stated is easily accomplished, personally (for a non-working truck) i like the "feel" of a truck without power steering,as thats what i learned to drive on,but could'nt live without it for day to day operations,as i go to some pretty "tight" places to get in and out of! start doing little repairs/upgrades and you'll be suprized how fast the ol'dog will grow on you!....Mark
  25. Could'nt help myself.......................Mark
