  1. Smith and wesson model 29 44. magnum w/ammo $1000.00......un-limted BLT's with extra mayo,priceless!..................Go Bacon!
  2. Found a pretty neat old picture, 1965 B-model,NTC-335 Cummins operating across Canada in the 1960's, all the caption said other than the specs, were that female fuel attendants (pump jockeys) were quite common in Canada. I only remember one truckstop having all women working the fuel island (back when truckstops were actually full service) this was early in my career, they not only fueled your truck, but checked oil/water,tires,lights etc.and even swept out the floor! they would even park it for you while you were eating or whatever! This was Kelly's truck plaza (long since gone) in Shereveport,LA AAHHH the good old days!....Mark
  3. I saw this truck a few years back, while passing him, spoke to driver on the C.B. if my memory serves, this was was powered by a mechanical 425 CAT,but again, not 100% certain on that. Seems to me it was pulling a lowboy with some sort of machine onboard............Mark
  4. Trent, maybe Billyjay can correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe the story is that preston was started with a loan of $151.00 to buy their first truck, least that what i've heard........Mark
  5. 7. Made my first trip out this week with a brand new trailer,i just got assigned a spanking new 2011 Great Dane 53' drybox, with stailess nose and doors, real nice trailer! double latch doors,air-ride with air release tandem sliders (works great!) went to Texas with 4 stops, was right in Randyp's backyard! but me like a dumbass forgot to put his numbers in my phone!...ended up going to Mt.pleasant,Austin,San Marcos,San Antonio......then back to Austin,re-loaded a load of patio furniture which i delivered in North Carolina at the Lowes dist.center earier today. few pictures at the truckwash in Ft.Worth.....Mark

  10. Found a pretty interesting picture of some AC-series Macks delivering steel beam loads to the Empire state building,( which was being built at the time)neat thing is that the caption said the steel was manufactured "as needed", and was still hot after the train ride from Pittsburgh,PA! The construction project holds a record that still exists today, 100 floors in 100 days...neat to see Mack played a part in the construction of an American icon!...........Mark

  17. I have returned! thanks to Barry,Rob,Randyp, who were instrumental in contacting Barry and getting my computer problem straightened out! seems i was blocked by the server,or some such nonsense! being computer illiterate,i was between a rock and a hard place! but everything seems to be working just fine so far,so what have i missed? who's doing what to who?.....i hate being out of the "loop" LOL!..............Mark I Have returned!....Gen.Douglas McArthur
  18. Randyp's computer problems MAY have been caused by an outside source, note the "missing" alcoa wheels on the steer axle..................Mark
  19. Now thats just wrong! you run the risk of "contamination" with standard Mack parts! co-mingling? i think the word is? LOL!........Mark
  20. Damn!i feel left out! guess im gonna have to start carrying my camera with me LOL! worst thing is,MOST of what i get to see looks something like this!...Mark
  21. Glad the secret recipe was recovered! i made a boneless pork roast on the grill, made a "cavity" filled with garlic, onions, tied it all up,marinated it in some "special herbs and spices"and some of Colonel otherdogs' down home, not too hot, jess right fingerlickin' good no-nonsense ol' southern syle sauce MY MY! it was as they say in the south, "sho' nuff good!"..................Mark
  22. Submarine, hoagie, grinder? never understood that last one myself, its a new england thing...........down here in the south i noticed people are fond of asking "what model is it?".......in reference to my pick-up," C-10 "i respond,no no what MODEL? "C-10 half-ton" !!what they mean is what YEAR is it? i little confusing to me at first............Mark
  23. Well said Ernie! i agree! i just wonder WHEN people are gonna wake up!!!????...............Mark
  24. I own and operate a 2001 CX-613,E-7 460,13 speed road-ranger,with currently 1.5 million miles on the clock, which i bought new,and other than a few minor things,my truck has been nothing but dependable! i do however mantain it to standards others may not,as i make my living with it,and have no plans to sell or up-grade anytime soon. I'm not a big fan of all the new EPA/emissions BS thats coming either! so thats one more reason to keep what i have.I am of course ,a big proponent of Mack trucks, and have bought them exclusively throughout my career, but this one has been a damn good truck! and find no reason not to recommend another one to someone in the market, with the exception of understanding some of the inherant problems with them ,previously mentioned in this post,so do your homework, get all pertinant info/records you can, then you can make an informed desision based on that information..........Mark
  25. Man o man! thats quite the impressive piece of equipment right there! Thanks for posting the pics Rob! there was an outfit up in central Jersey, that ran a fleet of B-model wreckers and roll-backs for many years, all totally re-built working trucks,i believe they have since went out of business, because i've seen at least one of their B-67's turn up for sale on here sometime back...........Mark
