One i drove looked a lot like this one,just it was a single axle,probably the best visibility of any cabover i ever drove,bout' the only thing i was'nt crazy about was the wraparound dash,kinda'hard to get in/out of the bunk.....Mark

I started as a company driver for Atlas van lines in 82" we had all cabovers then,i drove a GMC astro,300 cummins,9 speed,F-model 237,5 speed,white road commander,6V-92 detroit,9 speed,the last new truck i had was a Freightliner,first one we got that was a twin-screw,formula 350 cummins,10 speed. Out of all of those i liked the astro the best!

.......7:15 AM fixed my own breakfast!..........9:00 AM went to wal-mart for more beer,.......12:00 PM lil'nap before lunch............4:52 PM time to start on dinner,finish the tree a little later............

This teddy bear sounds like it may have roots in New jersey! especially when driving on the cross-bronx expressway around friday 4:30,or the kenedy/deegan around chigago,spaghetti junction in atlanta? or is that just me?

Weird thing about that paint job was it was SUPPOSED to be the other way around,i ordered white with blue stripes! somehow the order sheet got mixed up and this is the way it came in! i was leased to Atlas van lines at the time,and their policy was the tractor had to be mostly white! i did manage to get it worked out thankfully,that picture was taken the day i picked it up,i think it had 2-300 miles on it!....Mark

Oh don't get me wrong,mine was a good truck,E-6 400,13 speed road ranger,air-ride, but i still stick by my original statement,this truck rode TERRIBLE!,to the point where i had it back to the dealer several times,never got the ride situation figuered out,broken cab mount,several broken steer axle shocks,it even broke the drivers seat mount once! my dad drove it once when his truck was in the shop,he said "you oughta'call this thing teddy roosevelt,cause it's one rough ridin'S.O.B"!....................Mark

I agree that these upgrades will improve MPG performance,i run full fairings,aero roof,sleeper extensions etc. one noted improvement that i made was to have my exaust manifold ported,and ceramic coated (jet hot coating) seems to help quite a bit,both in power and mpg,not to mention reduced pyrometer temps.....Mark

Thats sure coming along nicely! i also reccomend re-installing the hood first,when i repainted our B-61T i ended up taking the fenders back off to install the hood,sure saved a lot of greif! i sure like the mack green and the stock looking resto,cant wait to see it finished!.........Mark

I started in my grandfathers 1963 B-61T when i was about 15,then our 1972 R-685 when i was 16 or 17,but had already been spotting trailers since i was 11 or 12 i guess......some good memories for me!..........Mark

Nice find! its a real shame when you come across someone like that! one persons "junk" is another persons treasure! when i still lived in NJ,i tried for YEARS to buy a car that sat out behind a barn (1969 olds 442,425,4 speed in triple black)" no,no its lot for sale","he's gonna fix it up" after the owner died,new people bought the property,i inquired once more,but by then it was too far gone to be saved! real shame,because had i restored this particular car,in todays market it would have put my son through college!...........Mark

I sure agree with that statement! i see things done almost daily in other trucks that scare the livin'shit outta' me! 3-4 weeks "training" then they get cut loose with an 80,000 pound weapon of mass destruction! i once interviewed a woman (on my companies behalf) that had recently puchased her own truck,and was looking to sign on with us as an owner-operator,looking into her work history and driving record,i found out she had been terminated from werner enterprizes,reason she gave was they let her go after her 4TH rollover accident!...................Mark
