  1. Swift has a yard in phoenix,AZ that there must be a 1000 wrecked trucks and trailers in there! burned up,roofs peeled off trailers, broke in half,i have never seen so many wrecked trucks in one place in my life!.....as far as their safety record it is abysmal! but for such a big carrier there opinion is that its "acceptable".............Mark
  2. Hey paul, this camper sure looks a lot like one that sat in the woods up near where i used to live in new jersey, passed it for many years, just never thought to take a picture of it. may even be the same one,it was for sale for YEARS before i stopped seeing it,only difference i can remember is the one i know of had a red cab.................Mark
  3. Only one beer from the keg? you gettin' old there granpa? LMAO!
  4. A little while ago rhasler posted a few pictures of a mini KW he saw at a show, i remembered i had a couple pics of one i saw some years ago that i thought was kinda neat......if i remember correctly, they had a little trouble with it overheating (direct drive fan) but a neat little truck none the less,a LOT of work went into this one!.......Mark
  5. ROFLMFAO!
  6. Mass 10 used to be called "the dump" with good reason!..there used to be a pretty good place at the RI/CT state line on 95, think it was called the republic grille (or something like that) real good burgers, milkshakes and strawberry-rhubarb pie! thats gone now too, theres a pilot (sort-of) there now,i holed up in there wed.night before i went into the boston area $20.00 bucks a night to park (without fuel at $3.44 gal.) no idiling,no generators,no reefers!........Mark
  7. MY,MY stupidity comes in many forms!....i know for a FACT that there are warning signs posted all over the place around there! (assuming you can read that is) what kind of shit for brains would even attempt this in a truck? rookie or not, just plain old downhome stupidity right there!. youtube is littered with videos of swift trucks stuck under bridges, wrecked,on fire you name it!....I'm hoping the new CVSA regulations will get some of these assholes off the road and back at burger king where they belong!....i'm just sayin' is all!..........Mark
  8. Hey tom congrats on the wedding,my best wishes to the bride and groom and you and yours!........BTW,looking sharp in the mack hat! LOL!......Mark
  9. It aint any better now then it ever was, just less places to park, harder to get around, i was 3 days up there last week without a shower!not even a motel with truck parking (not under a $100.00 anyway) theres just no place to go! the old Mass 10 truckstop closed down years ago (which was a shithouse anyway).....i hate going up there, just the price of doing business i guess!............Mark
  10. I delivered a shipment to a condo complex in maryland a few years back, could'nt find it,asked a cop, a mailman, even the local firehouse (nobody ever heard of the place!) i finally got there, told the guy you better hope you never need a cop,or the place catches fire! cause NOBODY knows where this place is!...BTW,better check on your mail service at some point too!..............Mark
  11. I have to admit i rarely get frustrated, with getting in or out of a place,i just get mad when the people who go there EVERYDAY can't seem to tell you how to get there,i dont use a GPS (technologically retarded).....and i still take a great deal of pride gettin' in a tight spot!...learned from a true master (my dad) i've seen some damn good drivers/backers in my day,but all kidding aside,my dad was the backinest'up S.O.B i ever saw! i'm good, but dont hold a candle to him! my grandad was the same way, just no effort to it at all!...........Mark
  12. I think abomination is the right word i'm looking for!......Mark
  13. I just looked up my first stop on google maps, the address comes up to a vacant lot under an overpass! go figure!..........Mark
  14. I tell ya mike, anymore (with me) its a matter of pride! i will put that trailer in,if its the last thing i do! LOL!..........Mark
  15. Oh yeah! there was a hell of a hole there! thought i was going to tear the landing gear off the trailer at one point!........Mark
  16. I know i've posted this rant before, just still makes me mad that people don't know where they are!.....call this "masshole" for directions to his place of business, says he'll put his son on (he's not good with directions) this is downtown quincy,Mass. old, little streets, low bridges,lenght/weight restrictions etc. so after i hand write a page and a half down, no,no thats no good,i'll put mom on, she'll get you here! mom thinks 3 maybe 4 lights (not sure)does'nt know the names of ANY of the streets, may or may not be a low bridge (our car fits under it) but she has SEEN trucks here before!.....long story short,i find the place, have to back down a one way street,go a few blocks down,go around a "rotary" (traffic circle).come back up the street, blindside into an alley around a dumpster,a piece of construction equipment,a crane,a chainlink fence, between 2 buildings, and around a fire hydrant.......get all this accomplished, city cop walks by, says "thats funny, never had a truck this size in here before"!...........so,thats pretty much how my week went! get to start all over again monday with 21 stops!.......Mark
  17. Nice to see the "gipper" smiling with what looks to be a good hand!.........Mark
  18. "CRACK" cocaine no doubt!......always makes me laugh,i watch "cops" on tv every once in awhile, never ceases to amaze me these bastards get caught red-handed with drugs or whatever (on camera) then they still say "that shit aint mine" "never seen that before" i remember one episode, cop was talking to this guy about drug use,he said no,he had a steady job, married, new car and all........did'nt use ANY drugs! he had a "joint" behind his ear! needless to say he went for a ride downtown!............Mark
  19. Makes perfect sense to me!...Mark
  20. Thanks Paul, thats a good looking truck! i have always liked the "aussie style" pinstripes, even now they still seem to put a lot of effort into paint design/color, much like owner/operators here used to do...given the popularity of the B-model over there,it just seemed strange to never see an H-model! not sure a could run a two stick box with my left hand however! LOL!..Mark
  21. Hey jeff, thanks for the info,i was just curious why you never see an H-model in "oz" i would have thought they would've been a popular truck for the long-distance work, but what you said also makes sense....given the popularity of the B-model there, just makes sense to me there would be a fair number of H-models as well! i have an old copy of an autrailian trucking magazine truckin'life ?(i think) and there is an ad. for the "new" R-model, the guy in the photo says "i could have cried when i heard mack was replacing the B-model"!....i think austrailia is the only other country in the world where vintage macks have such a huge following as they do here in the states.........Mark
  22. My understanding is she was so ugly as a child, they had to tie a porkchop around her neck so the dog would play with her!..........Mark
  23. R-model 237, 5 speed, just about as "bulletproof" a truck as you could get!....nice lookin' truck!....judging by the color,ex-firetruck?..........Mark
  24. Always wondered why the aussies call the DM's a "flintstone" prehistoric? ancient?....just curious!......Mark
