  1. I cant remember where i saw it,but i saw a freightliner "powerliner"COE up on a post somewhere, the one with the big grille,3408 cat or KTA 600 cummins powered if i remember correctly..........Mark
  2. I used to do the broadway show "thing" but got tired of being on the road 3/4 months at a time, now i just run under their authority,so i pretty much do my own thing.....me and one other guy have been doing the dedicated furniture/store fixtures now since 06' like it a lot better, allows a little flexibility, get to be home a little more. Clark is a really good outfit with an interesting history.......www.clarktransfer.com "about us" good story of the company history, and a few pictures of old trucks.............Mark
  3. Hey ernie,i sure remember those diadarrio trucks,they were up around milford i believe,kind of a gold /tan color?......Mark
  4. 30 huh? dam! seems like i was just 30 about 17 years ago!........happy birthday!........Mark AKA(the furniture hauler guy)
  5. Habanero wine? don't know if thats the greatest idea i ever heard! puts me in mind of something along these lines...............Mark
  6. LMAO! you would have had to know my grandad! pop was a "colorful" old guy to put it politely!...........Mark
  7. Heres a couple guys that know a little something about misery...............Mark
  8. Goes to show even i can be proven wrong! used to think there was no such thing as too big (boobiewise) saw this picture, changed my mind!..........Mark
  9. That was my understanding as well, but i'm sure mack was like other truck makers, using existing stock first,so it is entirely possible that an older cab made it onto a later chassis. My dad had a friend that bought a new LTL-9000 ford in 1987,he took it back to the dealer with a complaint that there was some rust in the rocker panels under the door sills, he was told the cab could have been manufactured as early as 1970!.....the "L" series cab was just as common on a ford,as the "R" series on a mack...............Mark
  10. Hey superdog,is this one of your RW's? i took this picture at the MATS 05'/06'? just put 2 and 2 together! thought i had seen it somewhere before........Mark
  11. Tom, good lookin'lab! i have a neighbor that comes over and cuts the grass while i'm on the road so my wife does'nt have to do it (allergic) he's 77 yeras old,and makes THE BEST homemade blackberry wine i ever had! i'd be interested to see how that apple/pear comes out, sounds good anyway! my grandad used to make "applejack" strong stuff! to quote him,"knock your dick in your watchpocket"! wish i had paid more attention when he made it,have allways wanted to try myself.......Mark
  12. IMHO theres something to be said for running an older truck, this looks to be a good solid truck (could use a good detail/spit shine though!) i look at it like this, money saved on monthly payments can be budgeted for repairs and upgrades, i also agree that a mechanical engine is much less problematic than a new one,i really liked Rob's comparison to a small block chevy! but i concurr, easy to work on,good parts availability etc. my trucks almost 10 years old,and i am not entertaining any thoughts of buying a new truck ever! too much EPA type crap, rules regulations,ULSD fuel,UREA,too much to try and keep up with!,,,,,truck should be a truck, not a computer/electronic test subject its that simple! me personally,an older truck is just not practical for what i do,but given different circumstanses,i would run something like this RW in a heartbeat!..............Mark
  13. I thought so too,i'm still trying to figure out what that tank behind the cab is for, hydralic oil? we had an old end-dump trailer on the farm when i was a kid, bout the same size as the body on this truck!.looks to be all wheel drive too, looks like a differential under the front bumper?....Mark
  14. NICE! now thats more like it! i'd go to "big rigger" school ifn' i had a teacher like that!...........Mark
  15. A friend of mine up in jersey went to a land/heavy equipment auction, saw this and thought it would be of interest to me. He was'nt able too find out much about it other than the fact its a mack. I have seen some pretty heavy duty F-models,but never one like this( not in the states anyway) i have seen some export models like this, mostly oilwell drilling,heavy-haul operations overseas,....any ideas?.........Mark
  16. My oh my! thats funny right there!.......not too far from the truth! LMAO!.......Mark
  17. Looks like you have your work cut out for you! i heard a good quote on that "american pickers" TV show, they were talking about rare parts for some type motorcycle, and the one guy says "these things are so hard to find parts for,i've seen guys build one out of oilstains!"......anyway,best of luck,i sure like the AC series trucks, its what macks are all about!...........Mark
  18. Used to piss me off to see clinton leave air force or marine 1,and have the military salute him, knowing he had no military background, someone back at that time said "only in america can we have a decorated vietnam veteran living in a box on the street, and a dope smokin' draft dodger in the white house!"...i can't imagine how disgusted the guys are now, having to throw a salute at obama bin laden!.................Mark
  19. No doubt! he's hard at work in his "lab" coming up with pertinant answers to all the technical questions we might have on here!.........Mark
  20. My answer pretty much mirrors Rob's reply,i too have had some degree of success welding various things, its been my expierience that the key is in good prep-work,i think a lot to do with it this is where the (hypothetical) crack is as well, and how its positioned, all can be determining factors in just how well a weld will hold-up,and i have to agree, that even a welded repair,is a lot less apt to draw attention than a leaking rear, but then again, the DOT have their moments! i was written a ticket (in california) the year i bought my CX,it was BRAND NEW,first trip i made with it.I got a ticket for "excessive grease" (fresh grease, pushed off the top of the fifth wheel)i was told it was an "environmental hazzard" so,ya' never know!............Mark
  21. Thanks! that was my first new truck,i really like the color scheme on yours that's sharp! real good lookin' truck!........Mark
  22. Dam! no air conditioner? i'd be dead now without mine! got to spend a couple nights in phoenix,AZ not too long ago,was 111 degrees at midnight!............Mark
  23. Couple guys i work with have automatics, one swears by his,the other swears AT his!.....me personally,i can see some merit in an automatic, just not for me,i still like to do my own thinking! but you are right,an auto.trans is a big recruitment perk for new drivers,i'd be curious to see what an allison (or comparable) does to the resale on a class 8 truck, up or down? I looked at a used CX-613 a few years ago when i was entertaining the thought of putting on a second truck, it was really clean, well maintained, new tires, the works......but ended up walking away just because it had an eaton autoshift...........Mark
  24. No,its a manual 13 spd. if you look closely, you can see the shifter/splitbutton (its hard to see,as its the same color as the interior) like rowdy said, just about every truck i've ever driven has been a manual trans.with cruise, nothing un-common about that, been around a long time..............Mark
  25. I'd be first in line no doubt!................Mark
