  1. Thank You! I knew I had seen it somewhere! been a few years since I've been that far west,I do remember seeing it lit up at night too!......................................Mark
  2. Al,i wasn't sure they ran that late (77) last one I remember seeing in person is now a sign! it's for either a truckstop or wrecking yard? if memory serves in the Pacific Northwest somewhere. A friend of my Dad's had one leased to NAVL,I ,never saw it in person, but my Dad said the owner said,it was the biggest P.O.S he ever owned!....................Mark
  3. My contribution to Fleet Friday, nice small fleet of tater' haulin' Macks! Lol!..........................................Mark
  4. Damn glad to see that Ray! I wish you good luck with it! whatever your plans are.........................................Mark
  5. That's exactly why I asked! Lol! I used to see a TON of single axle Valueliners pulling sets of bottom dump trailers in Californy!..............a lot of bulk fruit/vegetable haulers used them too, outfit in Gilroy,CA (The garlic capitol of the U.S.) had some that looked a lot like yours, that pulled doubles loaded with garlic or tomatoes, same color.............can't remember the name though!............................Mark
  6. Port Elizabeth,NJ Port Newark,NJ/NY or The Port of Philadelphia?
  7. That's a sharp little Valueliner! what are the specs.?..........................................Mark
  8. I bet Ol' Uncle Jesse would sure be disappointed knowing Bo and Luke started their new trucking company with a Freightliner instead of a Mack as the "Big General Lee" ( Use Waylon Jennings' voice Lol!).........................Mark
  9. Sharp B-Model "Model".......................................Mark
  10. Indeed White-Freightliner marketed the "Powerliner" in 74/75 I believe, they were available with all the big power (for the day) 3408 Cat,KT-series Cummins, and the V-12 green leaker. My Dad looked at a new one around 75 I think with a KT-600 Cummins in it,but it was pretty pricey even by 1975 standards!................................Mark
  11. Here's a sharp one,don't know if it's been posted before or not...............................................Mark
  12. How about this "famous" Cruiseliner? I almost thought this was the real truck when I first saw these pictures!.................................Mark
  13. I was going to suggest that,i replaced the 100th anniversary stripes on mine about 2 years ago,but I had purchased an extra set when still available from Mack. The format is available as a download (not free) from 3M for a sign shop to copy/duplicate but,my suggestion is to SPECIFY 3M brand shade-shifting vinyl,as that is what the originals were made with. My sign guy also duplicated a vinyl cover for the oval shaped logo's on the sleeper as they also tend to fade and are no longer available from Mack either. I will see if I can locate the part number from Mack,as there still should be a few sets still floating around in dealer inventory. You can also go the extra mile and have the logo printed for the mudflaps, can't get them anymore either!...................................................Mark
  14. I get that sometimes myself (I just figured there're telling me I'm number one?).....................................Mark
  15. Hope all's well Mike! truck safe!.................................Mark
  16. Another favorite, only thing better if the Superliner had a sleeper! I always liked this paint scheme too................................................Mark
  17. APA is still involved in the truck and trailer leasing business as far as I know, but the trucking company (APA Transport) went out in 2002,putting a good many of my family members out of work (including myself Lol!)....................................Mark
  18. Normally I agree with with Otherdog's policy of not stopping to help loose women in distress 100% BUT,i bleve' I just might have made an exception in this case! difficulty with her clothes you say? on or off? is what I'd like to know!...................................Mark
  19. Nice save! an MB is a damn good truck! most likely an aftermarket seat on the pass. side,as most MB's didn't have one. All the MB's APA had didn't,we carried our handtrucks on the pass.side.............looks like old home week! especially with the tachograph.............Mark
  20. 1955,one of my very favorite Mack ads..............................Mark
  21. You're right Rob,nowhere else in the country do I see dump trucks speced.like on the east coast...........................Mark
  22. That's not the same one I remember,it had pictures of an AC,a B-Model,and another truck with an integral sleeper,a BM (I think) late/middle eighties when White/Volvo/GMC came out with their integral sleeper conventional...................................Mark
  23. Its funny how you can always spot a truck from Jersey or NY,guess it's just the distinctive paint jobs and colors...................................Mark
  24. That's classic! been a long time since I saw "Heaven or Hell" on the back of a truck!...used to be a guy around my way in South Jersey with an Autocar ten-wheeler that had "El-passo" on one side and "El-cruncho" on the other..............................Mark
  25. Does anyone remember the ad that said "If you wanted an aerodynamic truck,we made one 50 years ago" (B-Model) "If you wanted a truck with a sloped hood,we made one 90 years ago" (AC-Series) and so on? thought it was a neat advertisement, but haven't seen it in years................................Mark
