  4. Came up in conversation today with a fellow driver,i know you could get a vendor trans. behind a Mack engine ( Spicer,Fuller,Eaton etc.) but wondered if you could get a Mack trans. behind a vendor engine? Ie: Cat,Cummins,Drip-Troit. I was not 100% sure but do not recall seeing any such installation (at least not factory) anybody know for sure?.......................................Mark

My dream truck was a 755,with a 1693 Cat,and it's still surviving "sister truck" was one of the reasons I joined up with BMT,it was the search for info on this truck, owned by the late Bob Eckstein from Round Lake beach,IL..............My.alltime favorite Mack.bar none!......................................Mark
  10. Love the Willys! 18. Does anyone remember reading about "Old Betsy"? was a 1924? Autocar that the same man drove well into the early eighties, only truck he ever owned and operated I believe? was quite a story! Both he and truck passed CALIFORNIA D.OT. inspections well into their 70's....................................Mark
  19. Seems to me the newbies are pretty easily confused as it is! I saw a woman driver (Werner Dedicated) not too long ago, that actually had the tractor picked up off the ground with the landing gear! (she was turning the handle the wrong way) she said she couldn't get the hang of "Trailer up,landing gear down, and vice-versa"! with "up and down" written on the side of the trailer, and more confused with a curbside gearbox!...............................Mark
  20. There is a refrigerated LTL company in Vineland,NJ (Homiak Transport) that ran a whole fleet of CL-9000's with that same red, silver and blue paint job, always sharp and clean! Friend of mine drove for them for a couple years,he said the same thing about the air-ride cab, they had a weird feel to them when taking a curve,he said it always felt like he was gonna roll-over! they run Kenworths now, still the same colors. I sat in one at a truck show once and thought the interior fabric was a little strange, kinda like burlap? looked to me like it might be "itchy" Lol!............................................Mark
  21. I also don't recall anything but the dog and base being gold, never seen a factory gold antenna base or headlight frames,i agree with Superdog, always thought door dogs were sharp on a Superliner...................................Mark
