  1. My guess would be an ex-fire/rescue truck? a town near me had a similar truck when I was a kid,but it was an L-Model instead of a B,which had been a Civil Defense rescue truck..............................Mark
  2. Congrats! I'm glad you were able to get the truck, getting damn hard to find a good (or any) single axle R-Model...............................Mark
  3. Went back and looked at it again, yes the shutters closed at 1:29.....................................Mark

  5. They have already started putting up the "sorry,no milk,no bread" signs around here, any minute now we should be getting the call that Vision Juniors school will be closed tomm. for what MIGHT happen weatherwise! Looks like the boy will be going to school all summer,as right now they have 18 missed days to make up!................................Mark
  6. They do call Frisco the "gay bay" for a reason!..............................Mark
  7. My thoughts exactly! I wouldn't have moved that trailer across the street like that! I thought long and hard about "ratting" the guy out,but it was some fly-by-night outfit I never heard of with an un-marked trailer, seeing shit like this on almost a daily basis sometimes makes me wish I'd paid better attention in school! especially knowing I'm on the same highways with morons like this!.......................Mark
  8. Hard to make a Huskypup look any tougher, but I think you did it! looks great!...........................................Mark
  9. Sorry,no pictures to verify, but I thought the following sure qualifies for "Super Trucker Saturday" I picked up a load of lawn/patio furniture for the Lowes dist. center in Statesville,NC on Thursday which I delivered today. The place I loaded at,made you drop and pull out from under the trailer before loading (I was told they had a few trucks take off when they got the green light, with a forklift in the trailer!) Anyway,i was talking with the driver backed in next to me ,no kid, newbie or rookie (so I thought) he was there before me,and just about loaded. When they told him he was ready,he asked if I could give him and hand with something, when he started backing under the trailer,i noticed the release handle on the fifth-wheel was held out with a strap tied around the frame,he got under the trailer up against the pin, then stopped, got out of the truck, opened his side-box,got out a well worn 11/16 open end/box wrench, placed it in the hollow part of the fifth-wheel behind the jaw, then tripped the fifth-wheel by removing the strap.Well seems the jaw was broken,so the ONLY thing holding the trailer on was a Craftsman wrench! I said "you gotta'be effing kidding me"!! "are you really going down the road like this"??? his response was "sure,i've done it before.no problem" In my career as a driver,i've seen some pretty shit for brains stupid things, but this has to be in the top two! this asshole was oblivious to the fact he could have very easily killed himself,or someone else when the damn trailer fell off!............Un-Frickin' believeable!..............................Mark
  10. Indeed I did! I had my tractor in for a PM,when a leaking rear wheel seal was discovered, long story short,Bergeys "technician" managed to get get grease and oil all over my fiberglass fairings (my truck is white) grease allover the floor in tractor (carpet),steering wheel AND burnt a cigarette hole in the seat! I pride myself on keeping my truck spotless, and needless to say I had a shit-fit! the "service managers" answer was "So? trucks get dirty when they get worked on.what do you want me to do about it?" I went to Mack corporate with this, and ended up with NEW right fairings,NEW drivers seat base,New leather wrapped steering wheel New interior carpet, and a $400.00 detail all at Bergeys expense..........haven't set foot in the place since, nor will I!...................Mark
  11. Yup,truck-o-haulics we are! I myself have enrolled in a two-stick recovery program!!!! I had the picture of that black B-Model on my bedroom wall when I was young! I can remember fact and figures on truck from 40 years ago,but not what I did yesterday!...........Mark
  12. I remember that one too! it was a two page tractor of the month!.........................................Mark
  13. I wonder if they'd let me hold the starter pistol?.....................................Mark
  14. Or this!..................................Mark
  15. I agree with what the others have already stated,my interest in Mack Trucks and the companies history has spanned decades! No other truck manufacturer can boast the loyal following Mack has enjoyed almost since its inception. And we as both enthusiasts and driver/owners are truly fortunate to have so many knowledgeable people such as yourself at our disposal. I personally enjoy reading all the articles and information you have posted, and hope will continue to do so. And I also agree it is a real shame to see control of an American Icon in foreign hands,be it Volvo or anyone else for that matter. I feel we here on BMT are helping keep the real Mack tradition alive,if only in spirit. we all still believe Mack is,was, and always will be "The" truck,be it modern, working or classic models. The words "Built Like A Mack Truck" still ring true with us! Most everyone on the planet knows of,or has seen a Mack Truck at one time or another. I never heard anyone say "Rugged as a Peterbilt truck"or "Tough as a Volvo" Former boxer Sonny Liston sure didn't hit hard as a Freightliner truck! Lol! Guess what I'm trying to say is keep up the good work! Best Regards, Mark A. Wright (AKA Vision386)
  16. There is a guy in my area running around with some type 1940's 4-door sedan (un-identifiable) chopped so low your hand would barely fit through the window "slot" powered by (get this) a Big Cam 400 Cummins! damn thing looks dangerous to me,there is no way you could see past that engine while driving the way this thing sits!..............................Mark
  17. Here's a pic of W.J.Caseys historic fleet lifted from their website...................................Mark

  19. Does he need to adopt a Yankee son? I can drink Fosters, but not sure about wearing the shorts Aussie drivers wear! (nobody wants to see that) Lol!...........................Mark
  20. Just my personal opinion and observation, but I REALLY don't like this "rat-rod" trend in cars or trucks, while I can and do appreacieate all the work that goes into building a car or truck from scratch, but why have it look like this? Not trying to piss anybody off, just my .02..............................Mark
  21. Here's a sharp one,real nice color combination...................................Mark
