Jersey Macks
vision386 replied to vision386's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
I was looking for a picture of that truck! but couldn't remember the name of the movie! thanks Ernie! I think in the movie they said they had about $12,000.00 tied up in the truck and trailer! I know one thing, theres NO WAY anybody would have closed me up inside that tanker trailer! I would have had to been the driver or stay home!.....................................Mark -
I found this picture and thought I would share it,that Superliner sure looks familiar! it's a great picture too!......................................Mark

"Ok chief,it's twenty till 7,two hundred miles to go,and I want this freight in Buffalo by NOON! I don't care if you're hungry,or when the last time you slept was,now get in this thing and get rollin'"!........................................Mark

A good friend of mine in Jersey had a similar experience,he was leaving for work (he pulled a dump trailer with a KW conv.) when a woman came down a get off ramp the wrong way and hit him head-on,she was killed instantly (which was her wish) according to her suicide note. Bob on the other hand spent six months in the hospital, lost his truck, eventually his home and family, plus an extended stay at the "nervous hospital"............... because of some dumb-ass women's husband had cheated on her. Bob is still paying on a hospital bill that is almost a million dollars,un-able to work (in a truck) and this happened almost 10 years ago. People like this infuriate me! if you want to end it,go ahead and get it over with, but don't take an innocent person with you and ruin their lives as well............Mark

I sure do Chuck! Al Villy was a neighbor of my cousins from Pennsauken, the two DM-800's are parked in front of his shop in the picture (Helmrich Towing & Recovery) also based in Pennsauken. And the WHITE trailers and dump bodies were built in my hometown (Elmer,NJ) for many years. Mack had an ad or brochure featuring an R-Model hooked up to a WHITE dump trailer,i wish I could find a copy!..................................Mark
