Cool Old School Custom LJ
vision386 replied to 57 bcr's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
I wish I had thought to take a picture of it back then, but I used to see a factory sleeper LJ come into the Vineland,NJ produce market in the middle/late seventies. What made the truck stick in my mind, was it had a "shark nose" painted on the hood like a P-40 Warhawk,I do remember it was Cummins powered, pulled an older Brown bellymount reefer,if memory serves, the owner-operator was from Florida,Starke (I think).................................Mark -
So do I! that's some nice work!................................Mark

One-Million-One Hundred Twenty Six Thousand Three Hundred and Ninety Two.8 (1,126,392.8) Miles on a Mack E-7 460,so don't tell me it can't be done! I haven't heard ANYTHING good about the newer engines, but I got a good one! And yes,the engine is as clean as the rest of the truck (not right now though LOL!) I will try and take some pictures when I get home..........................................Mark

I know we have a lot of Firemen and fire equipment buffs here on BMT,i had a question regarding something I saw Wednesday.I was leaving a delivery in Maryland wed.afternoon and a fire engine came up behind me (lights and siren) so I pulled over to let them by,when I looked in the mirror, this truck had a BLINDING spinning 3 lense strobe-type light on it,that would just about give you a seizure! I just wondered what the pupose of this is? visibility? (it works if so!) or is it a regional thing? I don't remember seeing anything like this before, and was just curious about it...................................Mark

Now what kind of shit for brains would have the idea there's ANYWHERE near enough room to get turned around there? I've seen some pretty dumb shit in my career, but that's up near the top!.......................................Mark

Been a tough week for truckin' for sure! had a couple "pucker" moments myself this week! came south on 301 Thursday night,of course the coop is open before the Potomac River Bridge, snowing like a bastard! (they were about to close the northbound side) ventured on up (empty) got a good grip on the wheel, went up pretty easy, started down the from the top in second gear, too slippery for the jake, put my foot on the brake, nothing happening! trailer tires standing still and I'm gaining speed! only one good lane open (the middle) I got down to the truckstop, went in and gave up for the night! Time I got there, you couldn't have gotten a sheet of paper between the cheeks of my ass!...........................Mark (for those who are unfamiliar, the Harry.W.Nice bridge across the Potomac is steep as shit, and two lanes wide)
