  7. Al,believe it or not,that visor is a genuine Austrailian import! I had a copy of "Truckin'Life" magazine back then, where they were for sale. We ordered it and it came in a giant crate about a month later. Pop liked it because it cut down on a lot of the glare on the windshield,and helped keep the cab a (little) cooler in the non-airconditioned cab!...................................Mark

  13. First truck I drove was my Grandfathers 1963 B-61T,END 673,Triplex,this is what I took the road-test for my NJ Articulated license(pre CDL) in,and the truck that started it all for me! The first Mack I actually made a living with was this 1972 R-685 which I ran from South Jersey to Binghampton,NY 5-6 nights a week. The R-Model's long gone,but the B-Model is still in Jersey,owned by a neighboring farmer...........................Mark

Al,my Dad liked and had good luck with Freightshakers! first new one 1972 (pictured) was a 1693 Cat,13 speed R/R,second new one in 1977 was 400 B Cat 13 speed R/R with 3:55 rears nicknamed "the airplane" Lol! "One of the fastest damn trucks I ever drove!" (Dad circa 1977) He went back to "hoods" after the 77' and un-fortunately never bought any Macks!...........................Mark

  17. This Road-Commander (Road Commode) was brand new at the former Garden State White,Freightliner,Autocar dealer in Vineland,NJ.............My Dads last new (blue and white) C.O.E Freightliner is in the background .........................Mark
  18. I agree with Al (57bcr) I've never been a big fan of Whites,only ever drove a few in my career one, (pictured) what a turd! Formula 290 Cummins,7 speed spicer direct, my regular truck (R-Model 300+ 6 speed) was getting a front-end alignment longest day ever! rough riding no power rattling P.O.S!   21. I like em"! that's what Macks are supposed to look like! they'd look better in the driveway at Chateau Vision though! I've always liked a two tone paint job on an R-Model,especially ones like these that aren't junked up with too much crap!............................Mark
