  2. This one?................I was told when the property that the station was on was sold to make room for a bar/restaurant (which is there now) the truck sat for years in dis-repair before being sold and going under the torch!.................Mark

  4. I always enjoy seeing pictures of "old school" lettering and pinstripes on trucks i ,like the gold leaf,hand painted stuff ! a lost and dying art now days! all done on a computer with vinyl cutouts................................Mark
  5. I also remember the LP transport trucks,used to see them a lot on 81-90 and 390 when I ran that area of New York,i liked their color scheme. Do any of you upstate NY guys know of or remember a carrier J.Tournabene (I think) or something close to that,? I believe they were out of Canastota,NY at the time (early 80's) they ran white R-Model sleepers with a red stripe,they pulled reefers pulled a lot of potatoes out of the area to South Jersey and reloaded with produce out of Vineland,NJ I used to run with them on my nightly trip to Binghampton,they usually stopped at the Penn-Can truckstop in Harford,PA. Trucks were nothing fancy,but always clean and looked well maintained...................................Mark

Have'nt found too many lately (work may have something to do with that) but here are some I thought were of interest! the B-Model tractor was brand new (1964) and I thought the B-Model dump looked like Mary Hitchings colors? found the last 2 B&W pictures on a Micro-brewery site (thank your beer truck driver when you see him!)...................................Mark

  13. I been a "Mack Man" pretty much all my life,but way back when,this was a pretty strong argument in favor of Kenworth (for me at least Lol!)........................................Mark
  14. My Dad was always good about that too Al,whenever we were at or near a truck dealer,he knew "i'll just be a minute"! Horner Mack, (my local dealer in Jersey) the salesmen all knew my family and i,they'd save me one of each of the new brochures,calenders,hats etc. always answered my questions (no matter how dumb!),let me check out all the new trucks! I guess it worked,as I bought 3 out of 4 of my trucks from them!.................................Mark

  18. I hit up those truck brochure racks as a kid too Al ! according to ebay,I should be able to open the Zenon C.R,Hansen Memorial Library (in my basement) anyday now!..................................Mark
  19. JT,there is a guy here locally that still uses a General daily pulling a logging trailer,will see if I can get a picture next time I see it.................................Mark
  20. Mike,my Grandad was the same way! when we bought the F-Model (300 - 10 speed) he said "what'ya' need all them damn gears for"? Pop LOVED the 237-5 speed! LOL!..........................Mark

  24. I'm sure someone on here knows the answer,but being as I'm not all that familiar with N-Models,does anyone know if Mack offered the N-Model in a sleeper version,like the C and H-series Fords? I don't recall ever seeing one,just curious.......................Mark
