  1. It sure was Joe! they had good food, and some real doll-babies working there "back in the day"! but, like every other independent truckstop I guess they couldn't compete with the "big three"..........I never really heard any story as to why they closed, place was always busy whenever I was there!..............................Mark

  9. Had to,just to get it (and them) out of my system!.....................................Mark
  10. Justin beaver, miley cyrus, anything kardashian getting pretty sick and tired of hearing about the whole damn group! the world has definately gone to hell in a hand-basket if ANY of these people is considered a role model for anyone! Damn no good overpaid spoiled brats, what most of them (if not all) need in my opinion,is a good ass-whipping and a dose of real "reality" ie;(real) job, bills, mortgage, stress etc.!!!!!...............Farmer's right, kids today have pretty much no-one to look up to these days!.................Mark
  11. LMFAO!...............................Mark
  12. NICE!!!! L.E.D's there above the pintle hook? best thing they've come out with in recent years in my opinion!...............................Mark

  15. I try to get mine done at least once a year inside and out, removes all the oxidation/pitting and a whole lot less work then trying to do them by hand!...............................................Mark
  16. ATHS Wheels of Time did a nice article on the Brown/Associated Transport connection a few years back, rare truck for sure! where did that turn up? only one I've ever seen in person is this one........................................Mark
  17. I agree with the Holland I.D.,but given the age of the truck could also be a Fontaine................................Mark
  18. That looks like a pretty nice B-Model Mike! I know what you mean about the no-trespassing signs, place near here has several Macks way back off the road, hard to see for all the trees, but they have NO TRESPASSING signs allover and i'm not looking to get shot taking a few pictures! I have located a B and H-Model and a K-series International behind some sort of salvage business too,but there never seems to be anyone around to ask permission for a "look see" Lol!.................................Mark
  19. I know that's right Jay! I got my 1st "official" truck for Christmas in 1965, this Tonka stake and trailer, which has probly seen 2-3 million backyard miles, and delivered hundreds of tons of freight! My oldest surviving toy,and one of my most prized posessions! need to restore it to what it was like originally, just never seem to have the time anymore for anything!...............................Mark
  20. I agree with Mike,if there're that bad to start,no amount of elbow grease is gonna fix them, machine polish is the only way to go,then you can maintain by hand with no problems.........................................Mark
  21. Up until a couple days ago the only "Jif" I was familiar was in a jar like this?.......................................Mark
  22. I'm with you Ron! I was gonna ask what a GIF was myself,but didn't want to look like a MOE-RON! Lol!...............................................Mark
  23. I've only ever seen a similar failure ONCE and it was on a Cummins Formula 300,the water pump had a zerk on it that evidently no-one (including our shop mechanics) knew about,so after years of running dry,the bearing in the water pump finally failed, causing a "wobble" when it went it blew apart the housing that the pump bolts to,much like yours!...................................Mark
  24. That's a pretty good idea Mike! just gotta' find the right truck!....................................................Mark
  25. Nice haul! I still have the Buddy L wrecker (somewhere!) and the tractor trailer with the Challenger Space Shuttle on it..................................................Mark
