  2. Jim,i believe it was a "Nailhead" 401 C.I. Buick engine installed.if I remember correctly........................................Mark
  3. Atta'boy Ernie! I sure love to hear about a "vintage" truck being DRIVEN like its supposed to be! a lot of your "pro-drivers" nowadays don't even know what a Brockway is,much less a 5X4! I sure like to find a Brockway road tractor to restore someday, always partial to the 361 series myself. There were a ton of Brockways in South Jersey when I was a kid, along with Macks ,Whites,Autocars I miss them days!..........................................Mark
  4. A new hood ornament for Vulva COULD be the "Volvo Vulture" ? it fits, especially what they've done with Mack!............................................Mark
  5. Looks like a damn nice R-Model! I agree with Superdog,on an early high-hood,but it looks like to me it prolly was an early split-grille? that was changed over to the newer style western grille? like this one? ..................Mark
  6. I always liked the five hole wheels too, kinda like the six holes that came on all the 100th anniversary editions................................................Mark
  7. Jay,best wishes for a Happy Birthday!...........................Mark
  8. Nice pictures as usual Tom! when were you in Hubbard? i came through there wed. night on my way back from Detroit, splash and go fuel, had to be in Charlotte yesterday am........................Mark
  9. I agree! wasn't that called a V.I.T. 200 or something like that? I remember seeing both a C.O.E and a conventional at truck enterprises in Richmond in 1976.................................................Mark
  10. West Virginia condo perhaps?......................................Mark
  11. I thought the same thing Al !,but although it does appear to be all there, and relatively solid, $3500.00 seems a tad steep to me pricewise? I know its hard to find a good single axle R anywhere anymore, but for the amount of work needed, reloation etc.personally i'd throw out a MUCH lower number first LOL!.....................Mark
  12. Great news Ron! funny how something from your past (that you didn't think you really missed) shows up again and changes everything! really neat that it ended up being the same truck! I bet the new owner has a million questions,history,etc.?...............Mark
  13. If anyone has any interest in this R-Model,Otherdog and I are pretty close to Roanoke and might be persuaded into a road trip for a closer look, pictures etc.........................Mark
  14. Ernie, sorry to learn about your son and I hope all goes well with his surgery, but both my family and I will have a good thought, and a prayer for your family!...........your friend, Mark
  15. I know what you mean Ernie! I have a neighbor that drives for UPS,and their trying to run him off! hes around my age,50 or so,he said they just don't want to pay the pensions! Ups wont even consider hiring drivers much over 30,at least around here,so I have been told......................Mark
  16. Be something if it did turn out to be one of your families old trucks! its my understanding H-Models of any type are a real rarity in Australia..........kinda hard to make out,but looks like it could be whats left your paint scheme in the first picture?..........Mark
  17. Found another western R that looks in nice shape, could'nt find any other info on it though, good looking truck anyway!...................Mark
  18. Found a really neat picture with that blue/black Brockway dump, courtesy the Brockway Truck Forum............................................Mark
  19. I sure appreaciate all the kind words and encouragement guys! haven't made any decision yet,but its coming! I think a lot of the problem (other than I mentioned) is that I am just getting burned out, anyone who owns a truck knows what I mean! NO "sick" days,NO "hookie" days,NO vacation,NO holidays etc.the time I do have off is spent under the truck, washing, grease, fixing things etc. its getting to be a vicious cycle! Also there is Mrs.Vision to consider, she is not used to me being around on any regular basis, and not so sure she wouldn't shoot me being around all the time!,as I have been told ,I can be quite a pain in the ass!..........................................Mark
  20. Been getting some parts together for a model of a 1:1 Astro I drove for Atlas Van Lines,i only need the newer style wide grille,i have found it is also available in photoetch, but it is from Europe somewhere? I think it is the Modelmaker shop? or something like that. Just a little reluctant to order without know about exchange rates, shipping etc. you are right though, that Asrto would be a killer model! wouldn't be all that difficult either!................Mark
  21. Thanks JT,thats just what I was looking for! I knew someone had posted pictures, just couldn't remember who!......................Mark
  22. Just wondering if anyone got any good pictures of that restored Titan 90 at Macungie? I have an uncle who is a big fan of Astro's and Titans, and i'd like to send him some pictures of it....................................Mark
  23. Are you shitting me ?!!!!!!!! really? why would anyone do that to a (what looks like) a decent car?...................................................Mark
