  3. I agree! if you was to put 10 new cars all the same color, with no markings side by side,i couldn't tell you which was what! all the new vehicles look alike (to me anyway).............................Mark
  4. I had a company driver fueling next to me once, who wanted to sell me a hundred gallons of fuel for $75.00 being as I was an Owner-Operator,told him he better be gone,or the only thing he was going to receive was my foot in his ass,and a call to his company! I forgot which carrier, but it was one of the "big three" swift, werner etc I bought a good set of locking fuel caps shortly after that, makes me nervous! I don't spend much time in truckstops either,i try and sleep in my customers lot if possible, unless they happen to be in detroit........................................Mark
  5. Shes a keeper! Mrs.Vision knows I drive a white Mack,.at least I think she does?.............................................Mark
  6. Found some neat pictures of an EHU tractor, pretty rare to see set-up as a tractor, usually seen as straight trucks,i apologize in advance for the "Brand-X" eyesores in the background of the second picture!......................................Mark
  7. A little from column "A" a little from column "B" ?
  8. Very impressive! looks just as good going away too!...................................................Mark
  9. We have a ton of those cicadas around here too,i cut the grass this morning and have been finding a lot of the empty shells they come out of,but like Tom said,no noise yet! plenty of damn squirrels too! they eat up all they birdseeds my wife puts out,she has three birdfeeders she prolly fills up twice a week,i guess the birds get pissed when the sqirrels eat their food, cause they angrily shit on my freshly washed truck when the things empty!.........................Mark
  10. Rodger that! LOL!
  11. Well said!...........................Mark
  12. I had a 67 Tempest that looked a lot like this GTO,wish I had kept it,but you know what they say about hindsight! LOL!....................................Mark
  13. Don't know if any of you guys have seen it,or if its even still there, but I used to see a B-Model tractor sitting by the water treatment plant down by the airport, sat there for YEARS! looked to be in pretty good shape from what I could see,but I haven't been up that way in quite a while.........................................Mark
  14. Mike, the New Jersey had been in mothballs in Bremerton,WA for many years after being decommissioned, but the decision was made to bring her home where she belonged. The ship is now a museum, open to the public, and quite impressive! my brother and I took the tour a few years ago, really have to see it in person to get an idea of the size of this thing! it is huge! hard to get a good picture of it,because you can't get far enough away to fit it all in.....................heres an article that tells the history of the ship, which is the most highly decorated Battleship in U.S.Naval history, something to be proud of being a native New Jersean!.....................................Mark http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_New_Jersey_(BB-62)
  15. Thanks rich! so do i,i especially like the "line-up" of all the various models............................................Mark
  16. Heres another picture of an early AB for comparison..............................................Mark
  17. Nice to see this Mack on the OUTSIDE of the junkyard, unlike the "brand X" junk in the background!............................................Mark
  18. It was a real thrill for me to see the USS New Jersey brought home on Veterans Day in 1999,i was there in person, but did not take these pictures, they are from the Battleships website..................................Mark
  19. What Mike (Superdog) said is sad,but very true,it gets harder every day to make a decent living with a truck,i myself have owned trucks going on 30 years now,and the money just isn't there anymore. The ONLY thing that has kept me going is I specialize, meaning I haul what others don't want to,,all LTL,multiple stops, almost all city work, yes I do earn a decent living at what I do,but believe me,i work for every damn penny of it! and as already stated, the gov't is doing all it can to put us O/O's out to pasture, what with all the new rules, regulations etc. gov't wants the "superfleets" dime a dozen cheap minimum wage type carriers, that will do what their told, for as little money as possible! I really hate to discourage anyone from a career in trucking, but its not the job it once was. In my opinion, its best to find a good company, who you can work for, treats you well, and you can make a decent wage at,all your benefits, insurance and all come out of your pocket 100% when you own a truck, not to mention all the paperwork, taxes, permits, repairs, and above all FUEL! my yearly fuel bill is now almost 4 times what I paid as little as 5 years ago..................................Mark
  20. The Battleship in the city has an interesting story,it was set-up at Union Square NYC in 1917,to serve as the Navy's recruitment center,a full size, dreadnaught class Battleship, with a full crew of "regular" Navy men, another neat picture shows the USS Arizona steaming up the east river!...........................................Mark http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Recruit_(1917)
  21. Excellent picture! that's my friend Johnny Lilla, when he drove for Horner Mack,he eventually purchased this very same truck from them, and went into business for himself. Something of a "legend" around South Jersey! not many people involved with trucking that don't have a "Johnny story" about being towed or helped out. This truck is now owned by another South Jersean Louis Barber who is in the process of restoring it. Great Picture,Great truck! thanks for posting!..........................................Mark
  22. There is a guy running around here in southwest Virginia with a 39/40 Studebaker four-door sedan rat-rod all stretched out with a twin turbo 400 Cummins, other than the engine,i bet the whole car/truck whatever isn't 16 inches from ground to roof in height! looks fairly dangerous to me,but it sounds good!..........................................................................Mark
  23. I'm digging the GTO! I sure like seeing the "when new" pictures,my alltime favorite musclecar 65,66,67 GTO.............................................Mark
  24. Diffferent, yes, and just plain wrong in my opinion!....................................Mark
