Make sure its centered in both sides of the mirror,back under so about half the fifth wheel is exposed (check height) continue backing under till you hear a "click",pull against the pin (slightly) to ensure a good hook-up,make sure there is NO gap between the trailer and fifth wheel (if there is,pull release handle and pull back out from under it,lower trailer,and try again) make sure to raise your landing gear (being as its curbside,should be counter clockwise up) hook up air lines (red/emergency right-blue/service left) plug in you light cord,check all your trailer light functions,when you do get ready to roll,if your MH is equipped with a hand-valve (trolley) give it a pull,and make sure you have trailer brakes........after that, you should be good to go. nice trailer BTW! looks like an ex-furniture set-up,they throwing in the pads? they have about a thousand uses!..................................................Mark

I'm starting to find them (Tastykakes) at a few places down here now,but they are much more expensive than they are up north! Tastykake must be trying to break into the southern market,becuase now they have something called "glazed southern style pies" have'nt tried one,(they look awful!) appears to be fried sugar,frosted sugar,sugar filled,with a lightly sweet sugar flavored coating! Bleccchh! I was never much of a fan of Speed & Briscoe,however i did usually stop there going south,if nothing more for the giant parking lot,always a parking spot available!,its a T/A now,and pretty much a shithole like the rest of them Lol!.....................................Mark

The lever on the right of the steering column is indeed called a "trolley valve" it is mostly used to check trailer brakes when first hooking up to a trailer,and as has been noted can be used to hold you on a hill. BUT just as it says,it is NOT for parking,it does not have a positive lock/engaged position,so it will bleed off air,and the truck will roll away! And as also stated,best to change all the fuel filters,fill with fresh fuel,especially as long as its been sitting,the old fuel has a tendency to "varnish-up" and loses some of its lubricity properties.Also,especially on a cold start,once running,just let it idle for a while before giving it any throttle,wait till you get up to operating temp.good oil pressure,air pressure etc.as far as not building air quickly,could be any number of factors,cracked lines,loose/worn fittings,oil/water in the air system,etc. do you know if the truck is equipped with an air-dryer? if so,it to should be serviced. No mistaking the sound of a greenleaker (or silver in your case) ! good luck with it,hope to see it at Macungie! hope i was of some help!.....................................Mark

Don't have any info on this truck,but i took this picture in Hampton,NH in 1974 while on a trip with my Dad that summer,all i can remember was it was behind a place we stopped to eat,real typical New England paint job,which have always liked,even back then!............................................Mark

I was saddened today to hear about the passing of country music legend George Jones,the world lost one of the best today for sure! i can remember hearing this song playing on an 8-track in my Dads Cabover Freightliner when i was a kid! some good memories of those days for sure!
