  2. I always liked this paint scheme on a Superliner.............................................Mark
  3. LMAO! thats what i was thinking, what no "M-Drive"? whats that other pedal for?
  4. What a small world! i have'nt heard mention of Ludwig Mueller for years,he and my Grandfather were fast friends! both being of German ancestry! Pop said he knew his stuff when it came to "old" Macks and was Pops first call whenever we encountered a problem we could'nt handle mechanically-wise,he was the only person i ever saw use a stethescope for diagnosing engine problems, he and ,kept our B-Model running for years! its still around today! Back in the day,Horners was our "go to" shop, being as they were not far from us,we were always treated very well by the Horner family, even when money was tight, arrangements could always be made to get us up and running, and not being a large outfit we never forgot the help. Charlie Horner personally invited me and a few other people to take a look in the "attic" at Vineland before Bergeys took over, what good stuff there was up there,i only wish i had had more money at the time! NOS B-Model parts, everything! years worth of sevice/operators manuals, you name it,it was there! I was sorry to see them go out,not many dealers left you can build any kind of relationship with unless you have 4-500 trucks! i'm always on the lookout for any memorabilia with Horners name on it,hat tags, calendars etc. just a better time and place,i sure miss those days!....................Mark
  5. Man thats something! thanks for posting! i'd sure like to see them try and teach a 5 and a 4 nowadays!...........................................Mark
  6. I remember once my Dad locked his keys inside his cabover Freightliner,we jacked up the cab,and went through the shift tower hole with a wire hanger, fished the keys out of the ignition switch.later on after explaining the whole story,my Mom said "why did'nt you just get the EXTRA keys out of the nightstand next to the bed?"..........................................Mark
  7. Neat stuff! i sure got a kick out of the Model A with the Blatz beer mug on back!............................................Mark
  8. Sounds like a fair starting offer, does it run? what shape are the tires in? lost keys are not much of an issue, its a whole lot easier to change an ignition switch in a truck then it is in a car. As long as the paperwork aspect pans out (i know what a PITA Jersey DMV can be) looks like a pretty solid sound truck, especially for what you're looking to do with it,and not many Generals around anymore!...............................................Mark
  9. My alltime favorite A-Car,with the set-forward axle.................................................Mark
  10. LOL! that was the scourge of the cabover! best remember to yard-up all your S*it BEFORE tilting the cab! many is the time i saw a TV,thermos, dogs, cats, occaisionally a second driver,up against the windshield!..................................Mark
  11. Just my opinion,(and i'm sure i'll hear about it) but i think the F-Model was one of the best modern Macks ever built, second only to the R-Model. Great pictures, brochures thanks for posting them!..........................................Mark
  12. Does anybody remember when they (Overdrive) reveiwed the new Marmon cabover? they had the famous basketball player Wilt Chaimberlan in the side-box,and he fit with room to spare!....................................................Mark
  13. Yes i do Ron! Melvin (streetzy) was the best parts guy i ever encountered! he knew what you wanted WITHOUT the "last six of the vin # " we (my family) dealt with Horner for many years,i bought 3 of the four new trucks i've owned from them. He hung on awhile after the Bergey group bought them out,but it was just not the same,i believe Melvin retired a few years back, great guys to deal with for sure! ................................................Mark
  14. Bad Dog,maybe you know the name of the company that runs some really sharp cabover KW's i think its Earl something? transport, all black with red stripes, really nice looking trucks,i see a lot of them pulling flatbeds,i believe they are from Canada, just never seen one up close to see where from. All the trucks i've seen have stainless wind deflectors on the cab corners....................................Mark
  15. Sure wish i could go down and order one! i think Overdrive was usually pretty good to Mack with tractor reviews.....................................Mark
  16. Not at all Mike,i agree with you about the past! do you have a Mack Marshall Badge? i got one from Horner Mack back when this promotion was out, have'nt seen many of them......................................................Mark
  17. Lookin' good! can't say i'm not much on "new" inventions truckwise, but LED's are the Sh*T ! i have them on every postion on my CX,never had problem one with any of them, don't think i'd ever go back to bulb lights.....................................Mark
  18. Thats a good looking F! suprized its in as good a shape as it is,especially sitting for that long!...........................Mark

  25. Al,my Dad ran a lot of produce for Greenstein,Ed was from the Tampa/ St.Pete area if i remember correctly,i remember my Dad saying when he was down that way he always had an open invitation to stop by. He (my Dad) knew damn near everybody that ran a truck between Jersey and Florida! There is an article about the Kimball family on Overdrive Retro, and looks like some of them migrated up to Wisconsin,so might be the same family?.....................................Mark http://www.overdriveretro.com/a-produce-haulers-legacy-hard-work-but-habit-forming/
