I know what you mean Ernie! at one time i wanted to get bigger (another truck or two) but i was always worried about finding a good driver,someone who would do what i do,take care of his equipment,be on time,the whole deal,like i do. Just don't seem to be out there anymore,sure they TALK a good game,but when it comes down to it,usually not as good as they think they are! And what i do don't help! mostly all cities,multiple stops,i "tailgate" every piece loaded most times,not much luck finding anyone willing to do that anymore,which is a shame,cause it pays damn good,i work for every dime of it though! same thing when i was with Atlas,bedbugging is HARD WORK PERIOD! but even it don't pay as good as it used to............................Mark

LOL! i agree Tom,its what you get used to,i learned more by nesessity than anything else,some of the places i go are not pretty! but i have to say i learned from the BEST! and i'm not just saying that because he was my Dad,but let me tell you,my Pops was the backinest up S.O.B (sorry grandma) i ever saw! i seen my old man put a truck in places make most people (including me) shit their pants! he made it look easy.Never really thought much about it when i rode with him summers as a kid,but when i started to have to do it for myself,i came to appreacieate talent! and i'm thankful everyday i had someone to show me the way to do things..........................Mark

Great picture Chuck! i looked at that truck in person when it sat in Trenton years ago,they were a Diamond Reo dealer? i was'nt sure what make truck this was,as it did'nt have an I.D. plate when i opened the door,and there was never anyone around. I thought it was possibly a Brockway or a White. I do know it sat for years!.............I owe you a "like" (couple actually) fresh out for today! LOL!........................Mark

I wanna say that B had some sort of custom made fiberglass hood on it,can't remember if they made it or bought it,i talked to the guy for quite awhile about the truck,that small fleet was featured in the old "American Trucker" magazine back in the eighties. They were the trucking end of a beer distibutor down in Maryland somewhere,had mostly petes and kw's on the road...........................Mark

  20. Mike,i agree,i like it as is too! i thought Keystone because i have one just like that,it has a low sided dump body on it which is the same as the Packard truck Keystone made. $55 bucks ida bought it too! made out good in my opinion....................Mark

  22. Rob,the guy i was talking about? the Diamond Reo was a dark metallic green i think,with a super shiny EAST? dump..........only thing i can remember was he was "Mickey Mouse" on the cb!............................Mark
  23. There was a guy in South Jersey who ran a Diamond Reo/dump trailer combination for years after they quit making them,this truck was SPOTLESS! He was featured in Overdrive Magazine,because he was so well known to all the dump truck guys,he washed this thing EVERY night,wore a white shirt and tie to work! (really) i believe he was awarded a new at the time International conventional,for being voted "trucker of the decade",or something like that. I saw the truck and trailer a few times,wish i had gotten pictures,really a class operation!.....................................Mark
