  3. You did remember your camera right?...........................Mark
  4. I don't think i'll ever have time to retire! i'm ass deep in work into the next century!..........................................Mark
  5. I remember seeing pictures of a factory built KW pickup truck, that was given to the engineering CEO when he retired,it was a nice looking job, did'nt look "pieced together" like most i've seen, may have even been in Overdrive?...............i saw "mighty mite" (the P.I.E mini truck) at a show in Portland,OR some years ago, built right from factory specs in their own shop!..............................Mark
  6. 318 roadoiler behind a quadbox? man o man ! thats a combination that would work you half to death in a days time! you'd sure know you put in a days work after that all day!....................................Mark
  7. Thats a sharp looking truck! not overdone.......................................Mark
  8. Vineland eh? ever remember seeing a navy blue and white SS 69' El Camino? belonged to a good friend of mine from Millville, won a TON of money streetracing with it,but eventually & sadly was killed in the very same car by a drunk driver about 3 weeks afer his 20th birthday. I remember seeing him blow the doors off a BUILT 70 Mustang fastback, with a reported ex-pro stock 351 Cleveland,4 speed, this was over on front street in Philly.....................................Mark
  9. Beautiful! i'm a big fan of vintage pin-up girls, those are some great pictures! thanks to you and your wife for sharing with us! you're a lucky man,i tell my wife the same thing (marrying up) i surely got the better end of the deal!............................Mark
  10. You hit the nail right on the head Mike, thats exactly the way i feel about it,don't get me wrong,i have no problem with someone trying to better their situation,or earn more money, but these fly by night "trucking schools" and carrier sponsered "training" are not the way to go. Look at all these carriers that offer "no money up front, paid training" they earn about 5.cpm to ride with a "qualified" trainer (that usually has not much more wheeltime than the student) and then get to "pay back" their free training with about 5 years of next to nothing wages, deductions, and just about any other crap they can think of! its no wonder so many of them give it up,are abandoned by the carriers, get put off the truck, with no chance of ever getting a decent job. You can't learn to do ANYTHING with any degree of skill in 2-3 weeks,i've been driving trucks since i was 16 years old,and try and learn something new every chance i get, never will know it all! don't claim to! but me personally,if someone came to me,wanted to learn how to truck, they'd have to ride with me for at least a year minimum,my way or the highway! and even then,if i did'nt think they could "cut the mustard" i surely would'nt turn them loose on the road! would'nt be able to sleep at night!...........................Mark
  11. Thats what i was thinking!...........................Mark
  12. Neat article Al,thanks for posting it ! Cruiseliners? Bulk Cement tankers? don't know if that was all that great an idea! LOL!....................................Mark
  13. Does anyone know if this Superliner is still around? i remember it was on the cover of American Trucker? magazine in the late eighties, really nice truck,i saw it a few times on the road,i believe he was from the York- Carlisle? area of eastern PA....................Mark
  14. This one belonged to my cousin Mike in Jersey,a real nice truck,he kept damn good care of it,it was an E6-400,12 speed,wet-line,he recently sold it (bought a KW) so he's getting drummed out of the family!..............................Mark
  15. Thats my kinda wheel right there! put a sleeper on it,and i'm a goin' truckin' LOL!............................Nice R-Model!...............................................Mark
  16. Thats a damn good book! i read it some years ago, gave me some insight as to why the FDNY started using all enclosed cabs, and bulletproof glass in some of the engines! never understood why people would want to "F" with firemen in the first place, who are only doing their job,HELPING people! i mean these animals throwing bricks, shooting at the trucks, are you effin' kiddin' me?!.....................................Mark
  17. Gotta admit i never been much of a "Dodge guy" but thats one hell of a truck right there! Power Wagons are pretty much bulletproof, there are a lot of then still around, and they have a following much like Mack does. Beautiful truck, and looks like a first class job too!..............................Mark
  18. Its funny (to me anyway) that when these trucking companies advertize "see the country" its always some beautiful part of this counrty where the truck is pictured,Grand Canyon,Monument Valley etc.places you'd rarely if ever go anywhere near. Never the ACTUAL places you will be picking up and delivering to,"garden spots" such as Detroit,Gary,IN,Atlanta,The Bronx, and on and on ! i gotta get me some of them Genuine over the road sunglasses!..........No experince? no problem! in just 2-3 weeks you to can become a "Big-Rigger" ...................Mark
  19. Had to post this "load" that came up at the bottom of the screen, what a joke! see the country, earn big money,be your own boss! i noticed theres not much information in the category "what you can expect as a truckdriver"....gotta stop laughing and catch my breath!.........................Mark http://www.driverjobs.crengland.com/?id=google.com&gclid=CPn3r83JhLYCFckx4AodFHYAgg
  20. Exactly right! many vocational trucks have the steer axle set-back to allow better weight distribution and a better turning radius in tight areas. Where most highway trucks have the axle set-forward where its not such a factor..........................Mark
  21. I always liked this style Autocar with the set-forward axle, you don't see many of them anymore, sharp truck/colors thanks for posting!........................................Mark
  22. Welcome aboard! avid modeler/die-cast colector myself,as well as an owner-operator of a 2001 CX-613 100th aniversary edition.......................................Mark
