  1. Looks good but you better bolt her down quick cause she,s sliding off.......
  2. Thanks.....on my foot valve I have all lines hooked up except top/front fitting and there is no line for this?any idea what went there....do the slippery/wet switch and tractor protection switch get air from a manifold source?the diagram helped some but the top front fitting blows air when brakes are applied...I need to figure out what went there thanks Jim
  3. OK...I stepped back and thought aboutit and whats got me held up most is the treadle valve and what gets hooked where? I think he has the park brake push/pull valve supply hooked where the hand valve supply was off the front of the foot valve. The old foot valve has a smaller angled fitting facing forward on the top right ? He has that plugged on this valve and I dont know what went there Jim
  4. Ive been making good progress but things have slowed connecting these air lines...1st question...on the front brakes the wet/dry valve had no air to it,im thinking the valve on the frame works normally and it takes air from the wet/dry switch to limit it?so should the front brakes work ok unhooked the way it is....The tractor protection valve and the hand valve were unhooked also. The truck was to be used as a hobby truck and he had no intention of pulling a trailer.I dont plan on pulling one either so what do I actually need for the front and rear brakes to operate normally? He had some ports blocked off on the treadle valve and I get air from the bottom of it when brakes are applied...Im not sure if somethings feeding back or the valve is leaking..Ive got no leaks in the system which Im happy about but the compressor wont unload and builds right to 150 if you dont watch it...I took the signal line off and it is getting air from the govenor...sorry ...I hope this makes sense...right now i think Ive been looking at those air lines to long and need a break...frustrated..thanks Jim
  5. I had picked up a couple nice shift knobs a while back and never gave it much thought until I realized the levers were 7/16 and the knobs are 1/2 inch. Before I get excited and cobb something up I thought Id ask you how to do it... Maybe a helicoil ??? or some type of insert before I break out the old welder...Jim
  6. He said he bought it at an auction years ago...cab and frame minus the engine, had duplex tranny 9 speed and that some one extended the frame. It had been fixed up at some point so no telling what they changed but it had a newer air seat and this steering set up with wide front tires like on an old mixer and has pto lever.no glad hand bracket holes in cab or muffler bracket on cab...also had B 61 fenders and chrome shell but they were rusted beyond repair.Wiper motor is in cab instead of on firewall, when did they change? Maddog...what size brake chambers should I use on my 1963 B 61T single axle...I figured 24s or 30s on the rear with spring brakes but not sure about the fronts. thanks Jim
  7. Here is what I found out,,,now was this factory? I don't know...he said the B model cab he gave me for parts had this steering shaft in it,had power steering gear box and had dulpex style front tires...I still have the doors so I checked the tag...B61LST 45647...he said he still has that frame with gear box on it...and yes the u joint slipped on the steering box shaft....Jim
  8. Stopped by where I got my truck and was looking around and found this...he said it came out of a B 61 with power steering...looks like a little more belly room...anyway I dug it out and brought it home...not sure why I do these things but I cant help it...Jim

  17. Well I got the cab painted this weekend and turned out pretty good for my first paint job...I was going to paint the muffler bracket that uses the glad hand and door handle bolts but then I couldn't find it!!! Its been so long Im not quite sure what I did with it but I've spent more time looking for it than it took me to paint the truck...I honestly dont remember how its shaped....have you guys made your own or is there a better way...I thought I might stand the muffler up and see what angle I need...or I could post on parts wanted and maybe someone has one...Thanks Jim
  18. Im putting new 30/30 spring brake assemblys on my B 61 and was wondering if if I should fix the old hand brake...Its stuck in the off position and thought I might leave the lever assembly off and give myself more room...I can probably get it freed up but is it worth the effort....Jim
