  3. I can't remember the last time I saw one of those rain or flapper caps on a truck, but do remember when they were very popular..
  4. Me to but I add a little silver to lighten it up,use a small four or six inch roller,no need to tape off and they come out great..
  5. Now that makes sense, the aluminum housing probly expands more than the steel plug when hot,if I could find something that will grab it,might give that a shot, thanks for the idea..
  6. The fill plug in my 12 speed has always been a pain to get out even when I made sure not to over tighten it,well now it's totally seized and all screwed up from trying to get it out,any ideas,I'm thinking maybe bang a socket on and weld it to keep it from slipping?
  7. Sweet looking rig,you got Ali McGraw to ride wit ya?
  8. Roof and window flashing is basically the same at a fraction of the cost..
  9. Also check your cab mounts, isolation is the key to noise reduction, the main reason new trucks are so quite is the fact there riding on huge air mounts witch completely isolate the cab.
  10. Wow nice ride, good luck wit it..
  11. Thank you but I can buy the correct bumper manufactured by valley chrome for 420 plus shipping..
  12. Thant another down side of going to a chrome bumper,I will have to swap back in the winter for my plow set up.
  13. Could never wear out that bumper,it's made from quarter inch steel, any one that gets close to it says holy chit where did you get that from, lol I have the build sheet for the truck and the Mack dealer had it special made for the original owner..sure would be cheaper to leave it alone, might do that to..
  14. Thanks I was thinking the same thing, gonna stay with 14 inch..
  15. Finally gona break down and buy a chrome bumper for my 96 cl,question is what size do I get, stay with 14'' wide or would a wider bumper look better, the price difference between 14 and 16 or 18 wide is only about thirty bucks more, what do you guys have or what do you think would look the best?
  16. I guess you could cut your own but we buy them at costco, there only about a quarter inch thick.
  17. Should be a number on the hub, take it to Mack or truck parts store, get some extras..
  18. For tonight Salmon cooked on the grill on a pre soaked ceder board, for those of you that never tried this it's a must do,sooo good..pre soak the board for a couple of hours and I use this spice with an equal part of brown sugar,20 minutes on a hot grill and thats it..
  19. Forgot to say thanks for posting those very cool pictures..
  20. That does sound low, down here on Long Island the norm is 100 an hr sometimes a little less for a fast payer..
  21. I would pull it with the tires on,use a grease board, this way you'll get more leverage and once the seal pops out the drum and wheel assembly will come off..
  22. I would use a body filler type material like bondo to fill and smooth the rough spots and than use a paint like rustoleum [sp] that has good rust inhibitor in it.
  23. Are you talking about class 8 trucks, been doing my own brakes for 25 years and this is the first time I ever heard of this!!
