  1. My cuz built a dump from one years back,15' aluminum body and big 24'' rubber, sweet looking truck, still around town,I'll see if I can get a picture for you Superliner guys!!
  2. Lookin Good, sure would make a nice dump truck
  3. He must have some tough skin!
  4. I have a hose reel mounted to the frame right next to my fuel tank and an electric fuel pump mounted in line, works great for spraying the bed down for hauling asphalt or during the winter when running loads of dirt or stone..
  5. If I had your writing abilities I would quit trucking and write short stories for a living, best of luck for the rest of the new year...
  6. Maybe I misunderstood, sounded like not only did he get stuck and got lucky and got out without a tow but the trooper didn't notice or care that the truck had no plates on it possibly not registered or insured..
  7. Wondering about the speaker on the dash,is that one of the Motorola 12 volt speakers that they used to use in the police cars,I bought one on e-bay and tried to hook it up to my cb as an external but it wouldn't work..
  8. Maybe just a gasket!!
  9. Ha,Ha, you sure did get lucky, round here the trooper would impound the truck, give you a chit load of tickets and left ya standing on the side of the road...
  10. Can't comment on 18 wheeler but there are a bunch of triaxle dumps running around here with air ride, they look like yo-yo's going down the road bouncing up and down,I'd get sea sick driving one,as far as trunnion bushing's I know guys that have 30 years on the original bushings, camel back all the way,it's so simple and works so well...

    Rob Says "Hi":

Rob,just rub a mixture of baking soda and water[nice thick paste] on momma's ass and them splinters will dam near pop out all by them selves...Happy Holidays to you and your family!
  12. Just keep in mind it's a sound deadener not a sound blocker it deadens the sound by stopping noise that is caused by vibrations in the sheet metal. If you can add something to absorb some of the sound waves bouncing around it would help a lot,but you'll never reach the quietness of a newer truck because of the way the newer trucks are isolated from the frame and drive train, floating on those big air bags..
  13. Roof flashing or ice guard sold in home depot is very similar and a lot cheaper, also there is an insulation sold in marine stores that some say is the best stuff on the market but pricy, rubber backed carpet is also a good choice for the inside fire wall, cab isolation is the key,the more the cab is isolated from the frame the quieter it will be..
  14. I don't believe you,she would have had to flunk you because of an abnormal heart rhythm..lol
  15. I don't know one local trucking company around here working for FEMA or the primary contractor, they are all out of state, guess you gotta belong to the club..
  16. Just found out this truck was working for FEMA hauling some kind of clean up debris, looked like mulch or maybe shredded wood to me,these guys are working 7 days a week not sure how many hours a day, also was told they are exempt from dot regs while in NYS doing storm work, not sure if thats true or not!!
  17. I don't drive long haul or eighteen wheelers for that mater but I think he just wasn't paying attention when the traffic stooped in front of him, they said he hit 38 cars before the truck came to a stop, also it looked liked he was hauling mulch from one of the pictures I saw, that would mean he was a local trucker, see what they say tomorrow!
  18. Looks like another black eye for the trucking industry, according to the preliminary reports this truck crashed into cars that were stopped or slowed down for construction work on the LIE,over 36 cars involved one dead and many hurt some badly.
  19. I adjust mine till I get about 2" free pedal and my clutch brake comes into proper adjustment at the same time,on a side note why are you going through so many clutch brakes, one mistake is applying the brake or fully depressing the clutch pedal while the truck is moving, good luck and be very careful if you mess with the outside adjustment, you can get screwed up real quick if you do it wrong, don"t ask me how I know, lol
  20. 18 years,at least ya got your moneys worth out of that one..
  21. Probably why they stopped making them..
  22. Chevy,thanks for the info.
  23. How do you think that would work out on the driver side door, would it hit your leg, should be ok for pass side.
  24. I found a u-tube vid on the install for the type that Chevy posted and they do go behind the door panel, just gotta make sure it's a heavy duty motor made for trucks and rv's,still looking into it..
  25. Very cool, you have a working antique truck with all the paper work..
