  1. those baby quads were no where near as good of a tranny as the bigger boxes. had to be gentle with them, they could only hold about 150 hp and if you had a rough driver they would not last long. I have a few in storage myself.
  2. my guess is he called around AFTER he accepted to sell it to me and found someone who would give him more. oh well. I have plenty of projects to play with and not enough money and they little I do have feels better in my pocket.
  3. still looks like a 711 to me, could be a 673P but those weren't as plentiful as 711's. that truck is worth 3500 in scrap and parts actually. depends where the frame is cracked. youll have you work cut out for you makin a tandem double frame a single axle. lots of rivets to cut out of the trunion. either way its still not a Maxidyne
  4. I use to go to that auction years ago. they use to have an actual auction there, now I think they do it all on ebay. use to be a ton of old cop cars with 100,000 miles on them, all county vehicles. the Macks were a joke. don't think the drivers every washed them. they use to be all Macks and all R models. they had like 50,000 miles on them and I think they had a fleet of like 20 and they put new cabs on about ALL of them after a few years. that has to be about the last of the R models they have left.
  5. when they did the B model on Trick my truck and started throwin all the original parts on the floor during the ''Teardown'' that was enough for me. think about the only truck I ever could handle that they did was the old school painted Pete or Kw that they put a fake twin stick in. think it had the old style Seminole or similar paint scheme on it
  6. all he round ones were oil bath, you could order a Farr air cleaner though on any B Model to I believe.
  7. well after about two weeks of back and forth Pm's about the trucks and cabs he has for sale, I made him a reasonable offer for one of the cabs, he accepted sayin he could part with it for that. didn't get a response after, then get one 3 days later sayin he is gonna pass on the deal and that its depressing getting lowball offers from all of us and people who want all his parts for next to nothing, that he cant waste his time.
  8. rust might not scare him but there wouldn't be anything left to weld to after rattling up the worst stretch of Rt88 out of Binghamton Ny though
  9. ehhhh no can do Mike. not a Cummins fan haha
  10. there is, its in my head though haha
  11. eh id take a restorable LJ or B75
  12. B75 is the exception to the rule, they all had the bonnet style air cleaner turbo or not
  13. then I can trade you my B475 Firetruck for the B813 Mike??
  14. yup. hang onto it all. that's a late 60'sm early 70's R or U model rear end because it still has the old style cast brake pod mounts, not the Timkin Style. also has R or U model spring hangers and the thicker springs . ditch the tires and keep it somewhere. youll be sorry if you scrap it. I had a truck that kept losing wheel seals, seems some ace mechanic over the years took a torch and notch the top and bottom of the housing to get the ring gear of the hogs head to clear easier. well it notched the bolt flange enough that the housing flexed and kept takin out the bearing and wheel seals.
  15. wasn't that orange Ih cabover on Trick my Truck years ago?. ill take that R with all the stripes and the E9 for xmas anytime. kinda like the WC22 White hooked to the stainless trailer to, pretty retro
  16. on the door glass run channel up around the top of the window there was little clips that had burrs on them that the channel snapped into. I usually just glue it in there with weatherstrip adhesive. the window garnish or roll up wipers were screwed on to the door and the inside garnish moulding
  17. the bonnet air cleaner was standard on turbo 673 and 711 engines but I have seen a few 711's with an air cleaner similar to that one on the green truck but bigger around. Carolina freight had them. the one on that truck in the pic cam one natural 673's and B42's and the like. you could special order the one with the bonnet on top tho for any b model. I have seen some B42 gassers with the bonnet air cleaner.
  18. looks like an R or U model rear end to me, has the heavier springs and the newer R and U model style hangers.throw it on a shelf somewhere and take the tires off. def worth keeping.
  19. yup, had little screws, if you use the wrong one that the head is too big it will chip the glass, trust me lol. I guess you could probably rivet them on. and the chrome beaded stuff doesn't seem to last like it use to, few years of mine outside and its all rusty, gonna use the generic black stuff next time
  20. air cleaner on the green one works like a B42 one or one for a B61 with a natural engine. has a screen behind the barrel and sucks air in thru there and in thru the filter, over the oil and thru the top to the engine. has a flipper in it for summer and winter so it will suck under hood air in inclimate weather. more restrictive than the bonnet type or the Diesel type that was bigger around tho
  21. id like an old $1750 R model Mike. let me know when the next one comes around. seems everyone I see the owner thinks it has gold frame rails
  22. i vote for ass B but damn I dunno even a fart could even escape those jeans of hers......
  23. yup, a quad will not hold up behind a 300 or 350. you will most likely grenade the back half of the box. a 237 is pushing it and will grenade a quad or triplex if you drive it like a cowboy. also some early duplex, triplexes and quads had 3/8 bolts in the bell instead of 7/16 like the later ones. may have to change the bell housing on the trans.
  24. nice truck, id save it. 300+ to I think. def not a 85 with that hood scoop though and prob not a Valueliner. more like a 78 or 79. still a nice old dog with a sleeper. don't see many of those, especially an RS600L with the ridge in the middle of the hood.
  25. sweet. found my truck also, 6.21 on part seven. glad someone put all those videos on there
