  1. looks at the price on that 72 R model back in the day. wonder if they still have it?
  2. like the other said, I had to turn off the volumn... he needs to slow the hell down, its not a pickup. take a few seconds before trying to rake it and jam it into gear. the clutch isnt stickin, its the driver haha. its a Mack, it slower shifting. you better just sell that old B to me, ill trade ya for an 8.2 Driptroit haha. I have plenty of treasures to pick up with the wrecker and I promise I wont split the back of the case .
  3. takes all kinds I guess, seen a lot of those types lately. we went to the Adirondack Nationals car show in Lake George over the weekend, met tons of nice people. some short little prick spots my Mack tattoo and asks if I have a truck or just wanted a tattoo. I said I had a Mack. he said'' well you know they made tons, what do you have''? really cocky. told him I have a B model, he goes'' well so do I, I have a B67, those are the short nosed ones if you know'' I go yup I know, told him I have a B61, he wasn't interested, sat there eating his cookie lookin at me like yea right, he showed me a pic of a POS, I showed him my truck, he was even more of an asshole. now I love an old ratty b model but his attitude ruined it. he ended by sayin ''yea I guess yours is alright'' I walked away and go ''yup it is and I have 10 more Macks to go with it.''
  4. dunno ive driven a 466 with a 6 plus one transmission. was a sweet little truck I thought even tho it wasn't a Mack.....
  5. like I always say, love to hear Gearheadgirls bullshit comments after we don't hear from her for months on end
  6. awesome trucks. Cohenno had a Pristine B model and R model at the Springfield show. that's definitely one of those illusive gold colored 300 Maxidyne R600's
  7. its NOT a Detroit! don't wind her up so much! and they are right, it will fall right into gear. and for god sakes, easy on that old Triplex, parts are like Hens teeth. not nearly as many made as a duplex or quad. other than that go gentle on her and practice, practice, practice. he will get the hang of it.
  8. yup same here in upstate Ny. about every B model I knew about 10 years ago is long gone now and if we didn't buy it it went to scrap or might as well have. I remember we bought 2 B42S's 1963 and 64 with heavy front axles for $100 and $200 a piece about 10 years ago.. both had excellent cabs and 80 grand on the clocks. were site trucks all their lives but just beat.also bought a few B61 parts trucks for two and 300 bucks a piece. those were the good old days.
  9. yup, internet is free rein.... screw with us we all gang together and get you back haha
  10. god I hated those push button turn switches! even worse when they went bad and the mechanic tried to rip it off the dash instead od reachin under and takin out the two screws. looks like a nice Southern truck to start with. most of our stuff up here in the rust belt is a lot worse to start with.
  11. sent you a Pm about the trucks and cabs two weeks ago, got one response and then you disappeared.... I take it you sold them or are not interested??????
  12. 2500 is steep? are you kiddin me? scrap the box and get 800-1000 back and you have a rare Roadranger R96 original B67 WITH the Kentucky radiator shell. what a steal
  13. i remember when we could buy up (my grandfather and I) old B model parts trucks for 250-1200 a truck. god the good old days. now everyone around these parts sees shit on tv or the want ad and they think their junk has gold frame rails
  14. yup, that's def a Mason /Dixon or Carolina truck with the original probably R96 Roadranger and the long driver side fuel tank
  15. Doug Fetterly has one of those 864 naturals. I traded it to him a few years ago. never seen one with a 9 or 10 speed. I have only seen them with q boxes.
  16. how the hell do you turn it with the trailer so close to the cab?
  17. I think the pump needs adjusting when you add the side mounted intercooler to make a 237 a 285
  18. probably has a double disk clutch and an 18 speed double over quad to.
  19. are you guys sure? with those bicycle front fenders and canvas top isn't that an older model??
  20. judging by the color I think its a John Deere?
  21. A Mack Fan , ANY Ideas? haha, yea I have a few ideas....
  22. whats so funny? me keeping my mouth shut about the exporter?? geez im not THAT bad am I guys??
  23. that's a steal. a solid old green dash R cab is worth 3 grand alone all day long in my eyes
  24. they are all the same block 673-350, after a while they put oil squirters in to cool the pistons. this was done to the later 673 turbos and the 675's or 237's. after that it was mostly pump, timing and air flow. like any engine to build hp you need air, cool air. mack did that with the side mounted cooler and then the front mounted cooler. sounds like you have a mutt engine froma few different ones. if it runs good, keep your hands out of it and leave the pump alone, youll be better off. you go turnin the fuel up on a well used engine and youll have a pile of junk.
  25. id like to have that one......
