  1. amazing the going on haha. I remember 4-5 years ago a bunch of dump trucks were getting stolen all over florida. come to find out it was O/O that couldn't pay for them and they set it up for them to be stolen and put in shippin containers and shipped overseas and collected the insurance....
  2. nice pictures. went to the Adirondack Nationls car show in Lake George Ny this past weekend and there was a Dodge cabover pickup all original top to bottom just like Bill Mavericks wheel stander up there. even think it was for sale. not a Dodge fan but those things are like H and D model Macks, so ugly, you have to love them. my neighbor next door has one of those Dodge Cabover Pickups but the Ny rust has got to it and its sunk to the axles in his back yard haha.
  3. have also taken a 237 apart and seen all the valves worn in the guides and really sloopy from usin the Jake. engine also had a scorched liner and piston and was still runnin strong but when you let off on it it sounded like it was skipping and the Jake was stuck on
  4. have seen many 237 and and 250's with worn valves bad from overexcessive jake brake use actually. I dunno what the different numbers meant in later years. have seen Mack drop the N and just put ET675 also. im with Mike, someone put a side mounted cooler off a 285 or 300+ on a 237 block.
  5. omg, I think im gonna keep my mouth shut this time......
  6. we needs pictures, we can identify ANYTHING with pictures.... trucks, wimmens, anything I tell ya
  7. nice lookin truck. old B models never were too cool. just ask Vinny how I looked getting out of the truck at Longbranch park show this year when it was 97 degrees out
  8. I love how they just randomly filled in those wheel wells with a panel and a step ladder and raised the cab up.... never was a cabover fan or a major Ford fan but the original 61-67 or so Super Duty's were nice looking truck, especially the ones with the nice white headliner, dash panel and White steering wheel. the one we had was a 66 or so with a 477 gasser in in. my grandfather said would pass everything but a gas station and all the old Fords always smelled of gas fumes but were powerhouses.
  9. bought a few things from Virgo over the years. heres a question, when the heck are the prices ever gonna go down on those Protech frame two step storage boxes? haha. been wanting to buy one for my B for years but hard to justify $525 buck for an 18'' box for a hobby truck
  10. three words Superdog Mike hates with a passion... ''Too Far Gone''
  11. sweet truck even tho im not a U fan. 300+ with a 10 speed. so would that make it a U607612T? newer cab and the bigger letters on the hood. still a nice ride. I have a soft spot for single axle dump trucks.
  12. would have liked to see more pictures myself. haven't seen a Marmon here in Upstate Ny in years and they also had a yard tractor B model in that listing
  13. yup, definately a ''trailer lug'' on the shock. looks like it belongs there. probably if they turned it over It would blend right in even better. I like the electronic shutdown cable to.
  14. B61Mack, doesn't your B model have a 300+? if im correct, got any underhood pictures or ducting pictures with the tip turbine?
  15. some 711 engines that were in cabovers didn't have the number on the front by the timing cover. its on the back of the block near where the head and block meet. if its in a conventional and you cant find the number I would be the engine isn't original and it came out of a cabover and its on the back of the block.
  16. nope, def a 50's B model has the old style pedestal air horn, bolted together radiator and headlight panels, no bolts in bottom of radiator shell and old style fuel tank brackets. like Bigdog says, I should write a book on B model details. prolly piss everyone off though haha
  17. thanks! I ran it in blue for a few days, changed it back to stainless and clicked the compatibility button and all fixed
  18. yup I want the visor to! im lookin for a Lund visor for an R model cab
  19. I dunno about you guys but I learn something new everytime I wrench an old B model. nothing is in stone but I have just noticed that most early B models didn't have the dogs on the tach or the speedo. then the later ones had the dog on the tach but not speedo. course there are variations
  20. welcome. im an Ebayaholic sometimes
  21. geez, must be nice. in Upstate Ny if any of these communist bastard cops even see you with your phone in your hand takin a pic or not your getting a $200 ticket. Minimum $1200 fine if you have a CdL.
  22. I used the JC Whitney stuff in my B model. put two layers in. probably should have just bought the good stuff
  23. I don't think id ever downsize to smaller tires. around here we like SPOKE wheels and BIG Rubber. true 24'' if we can get it haha
  24. most of the early B models never had the dogs on them , the tach or the speedo. most newer B models then had the dogs on the tach after around 1959 or so. some had the dogs on both, most didn't have dogs on the speedo. confused??? haha. probably depends on what they grabbed out of the box. the cable that looks like a piece of metal BX electric cable is original. most newer ones are the same with plastic covering . like I said some had the small square drive and some the larger one. that depends on year also. the gauged are available from Watts or Stewart Warner yet. think they are called the 'wings' or retro gauges or something. the 53-58 B models had the fuel gauge that read 1/4 , 1/2 and 3/4. the one after 59 just read 1/2. think that's the only gauge that changed.
  25. might have the find a different speedometer or cable. I know mack used a few different cables. some had the small square drive and some had the larger one. once you find out which you have you can still get a new cable from Mack or have a speedometer shop make you one
