guess no one waits for the courtesy flash of the headlights anymore? hell its hard to even get a fellow truck driver to wave to you anymore when they pass you going the other direction.

Nevada B73
Maddog13407 replied to Superdog's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
that's a real fishbelly frame, not a fishplate like some B models used. that's a frame like a later B53 Series or early DM. kinda odd to see that on a B70 Mike. I liked that truck when it was first for sale but the truckin to Ny would have killed me. nice save Mike -
steering wheel repairs by BIG DOG
Maddog13407 replied to bilandsam's topic in Modern Mack Truck General Discussion
used the Eastwood kit myself, ground out the cracks and cleaned the rust from the metal to and finished it with 'Icing'. used the primer, let it set and dry a few months and the cracks came back. seems like it shrunk. I hung it on the wall and that's where its hung for over year. need to figure out something and was thinkin of problem plastic bumper repair kit myself. -
always thought the waterpumps were the same for the 673, 711 and 675's myself.

A and D use to have a shitload of B models and parts stockpiles. do they have anything left? use to be cabs down there stacked up on shelves outside. -
yup and his name is Harry haha cause it came from Harry Bartnicks towin in Utica Ny, next to Don's ford on Rt 12. was nice and yellow and red when he had it, he even drove it all the way to Indiana before. the round parts of the wrecker body were made by Utica Boiler. shes pretty spent from spendin life towin up and down the NYS thruway. has a brand new 673 in it with a rotary pump and a brand new 10 speed duplex.

the difference in a 673 and 673P is the intake manifolds. the P engines had the split intake manifolds ORIGINALLY just like a 711 did. that's not sayin they still do after all these years. the 673 had 180 hp and I think the P engine has 187hp. the engine in the picture does not have a thermostat. hard to tell because the pic is cut off at the top where it would go.the engines without a thermostat the temp would be controlled with the shutterstat and shutters. the engines with the thermostat had 3 or 4 bolt s holding the housing on and the thermostat was under them where the top radiator hose attaches to the block

2013 ATCA Macungie Show June 14, 15, 2013
Maddog13407 replied to fxfymn's topic in Truck Shows and Events
don't know who owns the blue and white R model but it must be a 77 or 78 right with the ridge along the back of the fender? also has a 300+ under the hood with the cool hoodscoop and the I think that's an exhaust transfer pump on the exhaust stack right?? didn't look inside to see cause I think the door was lock but I imagine it had a 10 speed Roadranger in it -
I had a few aw shits on the way to Macungie and back myself. seems cars cant figure that you cant stop on a dime and I hate when they come in the merge lane doin 75mph and expect you to yield to THEM. on the way down the roads were wet and we were going thru Cooperstown Ny following a car , I was about 3-4 car lengths behing and we come around a corner and there was a mudslide in the road from the one week of rain. well he nails the braks and stops dead in his tracks and my 4 car lengths turn into 0 and I locked them up, front wheels slide and back tires are smokein, but we didn't collide, phew!, onward to Macungie. also yesterday comin from the show on 100 before you get off the exit I was following an AC Mack back to the hotel, he was giving it its all doing about 35 and some asshole in a ford diesel dually with stacks is riding my ass flashin his headlites as me, makes me wish I had a 10 foot pole welded straight out from my rear crossmember. I was Dissappointed Farmer, was gonna walk out this am and take a pic of our trucks at the hotel side by side and you were gone! haha

just painted mine 2 days before Macungie, masked off 6 tires, both sides, let me tell you I was sick of taping!. ended up just using rattle cans but I bought Acrylic enamel in a rattle cal so it should last a little bit, bought medium gray Duplicolor I think. the tube type rims are easier to get on and off but scratch easier. you can wait a few days and use tape on them so you don't scratch the rims. I know a tubless 22'' rim is a bitch to get off a Dayton wheel when its on the inside dual. has to go on and come off JUST right because of the hump inside a tubeless rim unlike a tube type 3 piece rim which is flat all the way across.

yup, transformers truck. heres a few of my favorites from Macungie.one of us going thru the Lehigh Tunnel on the Pa Pike, thanks JT for the 5+ pictures of my truck, even the interior and I think of me and the fiance having an adult beverage behind it, I feel spoiled now. I love this blue and white R model with the hood scoop myself -
ive ran cooper tires here and there and my local tire guy is a dealer, even got recap coopers on the back of my B61. have thought for years cooper was a POS tire. had then on my truck and cars and never had good results, never liked goodyear either. have ran BFGoodrich off and on and never had any problems. put coopers on my truck and switched back to Bfg

i passed that blue R model on the way to the pub and forgot to look at it when I came back. doh! I stayed til about 530 last night then drove back to the hotel. probably take the B again next year but might put a pair of 905 Bostrom air rides in her and take out the Viking T bar! or at least take a route to avoid Scranton on I81 and the stretch of Pa turnpike after the Lehigh tunnel! looks like you snapped a pic of me and my truck the 1st day when I had a nice shady spot under the pine tree next to the maroon Superdog , had to drive it back to the hotel and lost my good spot but had a nice spot in the center Saturday. didn't get a chance to talk to many of you guys, always seemed to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
