  1. didn't make R700s like that in 1981. does look like a badass storm. I had a pic of my B61 done with the mad background like that at the Balston Spa truck show. there was a kid there photoshoppin them on his computer. he was at Springfield to
  2. has the old style bumper to. nice truck
  3. i have my B model and my cousin and I have our trucks insured with American Collectors Insurance out of Cherry hill Nj. very easy to deal with and reasonable and you can actually talk to them. around $152 a year per truck I think all depends on value tho. think I have mine insured for 20 grand. 1800 360 2277 is their number
  4. yup, tip turbine and the ridge that goes around the back of the fender molded into the hood. 77-79 right??
  5. I see the frame is sittin behind the trailer in the 1st picture. why would you cut it off???????????????? I think the serial number is stamped over the right rear riveted on spring hanger!!!!
  6. got the front fenders off my B. repainting the black to get rid of some dings and dents, crunch time definitely. cant believe the road grime and dirt and oil when I took the fenders off. just to think it had a frame up restoration just 5 years ago. everything underneath is dirty it seems. put new stainless fenders on the back after my run in with the trailer crunched one of them haha. also repainted the fifth wheel plate. put some bondo and icing on the plate to fill all the pits, (id make the Brockway site guys proud bondo ing my fifth wheel plate haha) would like to wire up a radio for the 4 hr plus ride to Macungie in the Mack. pretty exciting, 20 years of going and this is my first year bringing a truck.
  7. wow with the infamous Hood scoop to... nice truck
  8. far as I knew hawthorne was booked up as of Tuesday. my cousin called lookin for rooms. im sure other hotels have vacancies just DONT stay at the shithole Rodeway in in Allentown
  9. I know ive looked over one years ago, cant find a picture but it was a dumptruck and I know it was a B57 and had a doghouse, cant remember if the engine was slanted or not.
  10. think the B57 is straight with a doghouse, never paid attention and have looked at a few. the engine on its side is just that, same thing but on its side, its one hole off on the bell housing if I remember correctly and had a different water pump and a real bitch to change the air compressor. normal 673 was 180hp and the P motors with the Power tubes on top were 187 hp and both had pretty much no torque haha.
  11. def not a parts truck there if the frame is decent. looks like it needs a driver door. the front fenders we would kill for up here in the north salt country
  12. yup, ''greased weekly'' but no one every armoralled the damn dash
  13. Dellwood Foods use to have Yellow R and B models, beat them right in the gorund, rebuilt them and ran them some more, don't think they had U models tho
  14. yup Cumberland Farms had everything blush green then orange and blue back then. before everything went to white fleettruck colors. how about those Freightliner mudflaps? also never seen an R or U with the engine stop far over on the right dash. looks like a nice truck
  15. didn't mean anyone on this board, meant in general life
  16. I imagine they only load one side with long steel at a time. also some of the ones I have seen had a custom cab on a B model with a split flat windshield and a back door
  17. could probably spray it with some adhesion promoter just to be safe also. last I knew the kirker paints were poor quality. I have used Acme, Martin Senour and PPG and Dupont products before, Martin and Acme along with PPG are good but Dupont I fond hard to cover when workin with reds and yellows.
  18. seems its like that all over. everyone is cutthroat. I remember my grandfather tellin me his father use to go to the Mack garage on sundays to help the guys rebuild an old duplex or quadbox for one of his competitors JUST so he didn't lose his touch. then go to 'Sunday School' after which usually was the keyword for the local watering hole. cant do either anything, god forbid you have one sip of a beer and drive or own a gun in New York. borrowed a frienda trailer this am for work, now mind you its no bigger than an ATV trailer. got stopped but the local yokel and ended up with 4 tickets and wasting my time for an hour while he looked over the work pickup with a fine tooth comb but got pissed off when I had to ask him 3 times why he pulled me over. couldn't help but tell him the trailer I borrowed was the mayors of the same village that employs him, who is also best friends with the juge, so the hour he wasted writing me tickets that will get thrown out anyways. think the whole country has gone to pot. mind you this was all before 9 am this am. don't think he liked my comment about ''harassin the workin man cause all the welfare people in this town are still sleeping''. seems no one looks out for anyone anymore like we use to
  19. I know there is a B42 very similar in the B model photo archeive book
  20. 292 and 312 shared the same bell with the big block?? so I could actually pull the 360 out and leave the C6 in it and it will bolt right up to the Y block I have??
  21. id still scuff it up lightly. after it dries for a few days it could have bad results . the next coat might not stick at all.
  22. god that old B73 is sweet Mike. probably nice and solid to. that was my pick when all those trucks went up for sale but would cost too much for me to get back home. I will take a Sierra Nevada tho, the beer I mean, one of my fav's
  23. wow 454 in that little Deuce! that's like the 460 Fords these guys stick in the 53-56 F100's. what the hell! mine has a 360FE in it and its heavy enough, its getting yanked and scrapped if no one is interested in it. ran good afew years ago, have not had it runnin lately. im not a Ford guy at all but my 2 picks would be a 53-56 Ford and a 32 Deuce. my grandfather has a 53 F600 with a flathead V8 in it with 18,000 original miles that we are probably gonna put on an F100 frame someday. it was the original grease truck for his fathers trucking company back in the day. originally came from SJ Grove trucking
  24. god even in the 80's an d 90's trucks had some flair and cool colors. nothing but white colored throw away trucks on the road now
