  1. Cecio brothers in Australia??
  2. that L model is sweet. looked it all over at Macungie. kinda think the L models are getting scarce myself. would love to have an LJT someday, and a superdog and an H model and a C model... haha
  3. me to Vinster, in all red or the red white and blue ones! nothing like a heavy Mack with a Cresci box. what happened to Cresci? did they get bought out?
  4. like the black shell myself. been tryin to buy one of those M and M B models off ebay forever but they always seem to go high
  5. most hotrods USE to have small block chevys in them but thats changing lately. i get Custom Classic Trucks and Classic Trucks Magazines. you see alot of Hemi's and fords in Fords now. the Chevys use to be more readily available and easier to get parts for and actually cheaper to get parts for. think thats the reason. the grille is also in almost perfect shape, has a small ding but there is a Chrome Shop in Syracuse Ny i think im gonna take it to. this is an original Custom Cab truck also and had the door panels on the inside and emblems on the doors and the chrome around the windshield. it came from Wyoming originally and was an original automatic truck which i guess is pretty rare back then. i found out alot of trucks that were ordered out west had automatics in them. ive had this truck about 7-8 years now, just cant stand to see it sit anymore. need to do something with it. ready to yank the big block and make it more original. keep it original lookin, might go with a candy red or dark metallic blue color tho as it was that original nasty mint green color brand new. my preference changed on trucks also,. i like the 48-56 fords and the 57-63 ford looks. but would love a 55-57 chevy truck or a 68-72 chevy two tone short box truck someday. every redneck and their brother seems to have a 73-79 Ford truck up here to but the rust ate them bad in Ny
  6. im a GM diehard fan thru and thru but i still believe Ford needs to be in a Ford. not a fan of all these hotrod Fords with the ''distributor in the back'' as you put it.
  7. pretty sure it came out of a 72 F100. around 60,000 miles on it, complete from carb to headers, can hear it run . make me an offer. will sell cheap.
  8. this one is pretty solid, definately not a NYS truck. box is junk but readily available. id like to make it a restomod a little. old school glasspacks and headers with babymoon hubcaps and wide whitewalls but keep the original look, emblems and Y block. if anyone needs or wants the big block 360 thats in it let me know. ill let it go for cheap and it runs.
  9. heres a few pics of my 56 F100 project someone wanted me to post. recently bought a pass door for it from Cali, truck came from Wyoming and lost its original Y block and original Fordomatic transmission. i have found another Y block and am puttin it back together with a C6 tranny. i have the 360 someone stuffed in it for sale if anyone wants it for junk price. runs , just dont need it . im a diehard GM fan but always had am soft spot for these old fat fendered fords
  10. first of all ''Glazing putty'' is like nitrostan and is lacquer based. icing is like Bondo but with fiberglass resin in it to make it easier to spread and sand and also doesnt dry and crack as bad. also Rustoleum is pretty much crap. good for painting oddball parts but its straight enamel and will last at most 4-5 months in the weather before it loses its shine and you are not happy with it. if anything go to Napa or something and buy some cheap Martin Senour Acrylic enamel and paint your frame. never use straight enamel.
  11. im a youngin and im pretty sure there is a primary and a secondary. on a few B61's an B42's tandem tractors i have worked on there is brake shoes with yellow on the edge and some with blue on the edge. last i knew the yellow was the primary and blue was secondary.
  12. yup. horse collar, then rubber strips, radiator then shutters. some of the older ones 53-58 or so had a rubber strip across the top of the shutters to that set against the radiator tank.
  13. nice. they are made to work. drove mine 14 hours straight to Pa and back to pick up my B475 firetruck. think my back hurt for a week and had a callous on my palm of my hand from shifting the old girl but was a memorable trip with no hickups.
  14. every part on that truck is made of gold. trust me, guy is an asshole
  15. funny thing is they sell retro round headlites and brackets to make junk Petes look old school tho
  16. green Superliner with ROUND Headlites is no Jalopy
  17. nice Mike . Gilleys? always wanted to go there myself. long gone now isnt it? didnt it burn down?
  18. Doug i have a questions, since this is my first year bringin a truck after attending for years, is there a rule for moving thr truck in and out of the show? just wonderin this as this will be our only transportation back to the Hotel. i know you guys like all trucks to be parked and stay parked and we usually stay til around 6 every night anyways just wonderin if there was a rule for leaving. i know obviously we wont get to park in the same spot saturday as we do friday.
  19. that green B42 is sweet. looks like an early one but it boggles me. has the old style radiator shell and bicycle mirrors but the newer style fuel tanks and brackets and Erie front hubs which Mack used around 59-62.
  20. looks like a snub nosed EQ to me. while we are on the subject does anyone know where i can get a set of landing gear like the one pictured? i have the same trailer and someone hacked the landing gear off
  21. seen that R in NYS and Pa alot. he will probably be sorry if he sells it and gets a newer plastic piece of junk
  22. how do you do it Mike? haha seems all the old R models around here have been scrounged up or sent overseas and the ones left you cant afford or are junk
  23. Center line of the 5th wheel should be about 6'' ahead of the center line of the axle Vinster to put some weight on the front wheels
  24. haha yup mid to late 80's is old school when it comes to paint.back when they use to lacquer the hood of a new car cause the car above it dripped something on the car hauler and 6 months later the hood was all faded out and the rest of the car was shiney. had some good stuff back then like when Centari came out and 'Sealer 70' and nitrostan. nitrostan dries and cracks tho. all good in their day
  25. yup, worked on a guys house years ago that had a dark blue metallic 455 Super Duty Pontiac in his garage, his wife called it the second wife.''30+ years of sleepin with him she said and ive only been allowed to drive it 3 times when the weather was perfect''., never ever drove it. i dont see the point in having something like that and never driving it. anyone who gets my old cars and trucks is gonna have a bunch of work out junk lol.
