  1. damn Mike, she didnt even get a chance to mark her spot yet! im gonna start callin you Dennis haha
  2. i looked at a single axle white dump truck near esperance ny a few years ago that had a 318 under the hood with a triplex. was nice but little cobbed. had to have the radiator tanks changed for the dial top pipes to. the triplex didnt like the detroit either, wasnt geared right for it. and lastly WHY would anyone wanna take a 237 out to put a leaktroit in?????
  3. god what i would give for that R700 wrecker. that thing is sweet
  4. the fiance and i drove down today for the day as i had to pick up some Mack parts in Allentown anyways. was our first time and was actually a nice show. we have been to the big show in Harrisburg and it gets to be too much and too much of a blue light show. was nice to see all the vintage items there today. we are lookin for a few items for the B model firetruck restoration but wanna get exacts first. would like to find the original style siren, a wooden ladder and an old Motorola radio. just walked thru browsing today tho. i did end up buyin a Jim Beam AC Decanter, FULL tho haha.then drove down the street a few blocks to the Allentown Brew Works. great place to eat and excellent beer.
  5. think thats what i asked?? haha
  6. Doug is in Fla until next week i believe. he goes down for the winter to soothe his old hands and rub tannin lotion on the ladies, as he says......
  7. so did the small block letters get used on all the F models and didnt get changed to the bigger letters like the R models did?
  8. yup, this is the year haha. im lucky, think my newest truck is a 66 haha
  9. Doug Fetterly sells them new, he has them made up i think at the Snowplow factory up north. can get you a stainless one or plain steel, and he usually brings one or two to Macungie IF he has them sold. he also has the cow catcher plate and brackets. you have to either weld the top plate to it or bolt it and drill the 4 carriage bolt holes for the front and file them square. think he was about 400 for a plain steel and around a grand for a stainless one
  10. has a left rear fender just like my B model had when i got back from Pa with the B model firetruck. those fenders HATE lowboys and sharp turns haha
  11. in New York state you CANNOT put antique or historical plates on anything thats not 25 years old dont know how Pa is but every state seems to have idiots in offices that have to justify their jobs. i know my cousin has a pristine 88 R model single axle and he is keepin it in his garage cause it costs too much to just run for fun until its old enough to put historical plates on.
  12. think its 20 years in New York State. most all our volunteer Fd's around here get rid of them after 20 years. tires are every 8 years no matter what the condition.
  13. i never cared for ther looks of the Ch Macks period but theres something about a UPS Ch with blacked out wheels and no Mack logo that just looks badass. always wished i could get my hands on one of those single axle tractors.
  14. my great grandfather had a 1955 B62 SX heavy spec and he COULD NOT get a q box in it. it had a straight 5 with a 3 speed brownie box. i, thinkin 56 or 57 was the first year of the quadbox.
  15. junk for the scrapyard? omg BARRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! can we PLEASE put a restraint where new assholes who join cant post for months!!!!!!!
  16. always liked that Peters Precious Pup picture. i must have looked at thta picture 5000 times when i was tryin to figure out how to paint my truck
  17. im lookin at a early CH or LMU that i have been tryin to save. hard time getting ahold of the owner tho
  18. thats a sweet truck right there. theres something about those old high rib tube type tires that are tough. you just dont ge that look with the newer radials.
  19. throttle pedal has nothing to do with the idle speed and you should only adjust that so it backs off all the way and goes down til it hits the hammer bolt in the floor.you have to adjust it on the pump. suprised Dennis never did that...
  20. dunno, 38's have 6 bolt caps to. 10 bolts would be 55's rr 58's i would think Mike
  21. Coheno had a few trucks at the Springfield show all fresh restored. they were sweet. was a B model and a few R models to. he just finished them days before the show and i talked to the kid. HE MADE HIS OWN VENT WINDOWS for the B model out of stainless in his shop. told him he should go in business. he bent the channel right around and formed the window frame then made the glass run channel for the side glass and put it all together with new rubbers. im sure we would all buy a pair if he went into production.
  22. haha. im gonna have to start ordering stuff from ''Mikes Antique AFFORDABLE Truck Parts.''
  23. yup, Broken rubbers can lead to bad bad things happening....... like coming home with something Babbo wont wash off. haha
  24. yup, the base had the rubber in it to keep the pedal from rattling. those rubbers usually dry up and break off
  25. i remember seein that 1st green and black colored LJ in the 1st picture. might have even read that Overdrive
