  1. Barry use to sell them in the B model store but they have been off the site for a while. i wanted one myself, guess i should have gotten one years ago.
  2. how about the 300 horse 237?? something is funky with tires and interior does not match 114,000 miles
  3. looked at that truck about 3 years ago when we were in Sarasota. its a mock up. they put the cannon on it. i think the cannon was originally on an old Sterling. was never on the B
  4. nothin better than a round headlite superdog.
  5. yup, kinda hard to put anything in the bed like a bail of hay with those stupid stacks sticking thru it. must be great for the resale value to to try to trade a truck in with 2 big round holes cut thru the bed
  6. i dunno about you guys but im about sick of seein stacks coming out of every damn diesel pickup around town myself. i can see it say on a 1 ton tow truck with one single subtle stack but theses assholes with 8'' black straight pipes coming out of their dodges with cummins piss me off.or the ones that think they need to mash the hammer and make alot of noise at EVERYONE they drive by. about as bad as the guys with a 1/2 ton chevy or ford pickup with a racerback and 2'' stacks going thru the bed. back about 40 years ago my grandfathers buddy was a welder and had stacks on his 1 tons Ford utility weldin truck with rain caps, it was unique and ''cool'' back then
  7. yup, last time i was at Albany Mack they were across the river in the old Brick building.
  8. wow, never seen one of those tanks painted satin black. thats sweet. is that a Monoshift in that truck?
  9. id say they were probably formed out of cement Vinster or plaster.the block letters might be wood. didnt have my 30 foot ladder handy to crawl up there. that buildin is old. back when people USE to work to make stuff. not just buy a cheap plastic letter and nail it on the side.
  10. was in downtown Albany Ny last week and snapped these pictures of the original Albany Mack Sales before they moved to the old railroad building then onto another building in Rensaleer. amazin this place still is standing. the Brockway building is about a block down the road from the Mack garage on Broadway street
  11. rub it in. with the liquid battery acid they put on the roads here in New York in the winter, it makes you cringe to buy a new truck or vehicle for that matter and drive it in the winter. we had a tiny bit of snow last week, before that it rained and washed all the salt off the road. i think with the 1'' of snow they put more salt down than they used all winter. if people knew how to drive, they wouldnt have to have the roads BARE all winter long. plus i think the state likes to piss money away and waste salt and cuttin edges.
  12. god Celli must have had stock in the aluminum wheel company with all those nice 5 hole Alcoa's they ran all the way around, even the back of dumptrucks
  13. never thought of summitt for big truck parts
  14. yup, definately not a New York State rust bucket haha. our one plow truck at work is a 99 with a 7.3 and the speedometer quit 2 years ago so who knows how many it has now. new box side and tailgate and oil cooler , tranny cooler and power steerin cooler lines tho. if we didnt plow with it it would be nice.
  15. Berube's has a full lineup of fenders., you can even get those black plastic garbage truck fenders in chrome now but they arent cheap. just bought two lifetime full single axle stainless ones for my b model to replace the ones that met an early life with a low trailer and got them for 300 a pair. i made my own mounting brackets tho cause the brackets must be made out of gold, most of them cost more than the fender. always likes the look of Merritt fenders to.
  16. yup and meanwhile they have 37 cars behind them going 42 mph. one of the main things i hate about driving, havin the cruise set and cruisin right along and come up on two cars, one in the hammer lane right even with a car in the slow lane going 62mph with nowhere to go and neither one wants to get over.
  17. 55 ford, sweet
  18. rarity is in the eye of the seller and buyer.... that aluminum long square tank and hood are rare, not gonna say i have never seen them tho.
  19. i have seen a TRTX670 10 speed in a B61 a few years ago in Syracuse Ny. had to take a double take on the shift pattern, truck was a total rot wagon and the guy wanted a miesily 5500 for it. definately an oddball, kinda like a 14 speed quadbox i have seen in a B81. just when u thought you could figure out these B models, something else comes along
  20. so what the hell was so funny about the description?
  21. yup, was gonna say that truck is a 59-61 cause it has the newer style fuel tank brackets, the covers still on the door hinges, newer style front hubcabs, not the domed ones and the air horns are off to the side and it has the lower bolts in the radiator shell. also looks like it has a Cresci dump box on it with the checkerboard bottom panel. i would guess that is a 67 series trandmission with an adapter plate? i think i saw a B47 once and it actually had a scania or a 475 Mack motor and a baby 77 series quad. kick myself for not buyin it at auction, had a rebuilt engine and really nice 55 gallon round aluminum fuel tanks. the engine looked like a 673 and had the injection pump on pass side so i dont think it was a scania
  22. yea makes u pissed when that shit happens. i went by this salvage yard for years and years, guy wouldnt sell anything. he had a B61SX that was nice with a nice cab and also a B50P that was really nice, aluminum components throughout, even the steering column. guy ended up dieing and his kid took over and scrapped everything. i tried to buy stuff. was told it was all sold to a scrapper for 80 bucks a ton. went back and looks for the truck, they crushed the cabs right down to the frames with a 235 Cat trackhoe. i was so pissed. they only made 200 B50's! i asked the guy for the bulldog cause amazingly it was the longest eared dog i had seen and they didnt break it, he was an asshole and said i could never get the shell off and he wanted 10 bucks for it. i went in the truck of my car, took out a hacksaw and cut right thru the mount and took the dog and gave him his 10 bucks, he was pissed off. im never one to cut a dog off but they ruined the rest of the truck, i had to save his life haha. joke was on him cause right after that scrap went to 300 bucks a ton and he sold all his for 80.
  23. id kill for that white steering wheel
  24. wow, never seen that shift pattern before. have seen a 10 speed that had a 3 way splitter before and my B613 had a small 77 series 5 speed with a 3 speed brownie and the aux was on the left but most smaller B42's had the aux on the right. most diesels and bigger gas jobs had the aux on the left. there is no way a 673 would bolt up to a 77 series transmission and take the torque i dont think. the B43's has the pump on the 673 turned down to make 150hp instead of 170 and used the smaller 67 series tranny with an adapter plate. we need numbers off the side of your transmission case. our one B42 has a 14 speed quad but its a 77 series and aux is on the right. that shift pattern looks like a 10 speed ''Mud stick'' pattern as the old timers called it. low low is not meant to be split and usually cant. like an old 4 speed Ford pickup, you cant downshift into 1st, its only meant to go one way.
  25. gee a picture would help us all out. most of us do better with pictures than with reading......
