  1. pretty sure thats the truck from Wells Bridge Ny down by Oneonta that was on CL. use to see it parked along old Rt 7 a few years ago. use to see it workin here and there to
  2. maybe your right. was down that way about a month off Vly road and i thought they were still there. i know the Macks were and the Brockways.
  3. sure would look nice up here in Ny in my collection. god that thing is sweet
  4. never knew that. Roadway didnt have pass seats in the R's either. some had the AC mounted to the rear cab wall to
  5. thats a sweet old R model, with the old style B model curved exhaust stack
  6. always liked NEMF's colors. dont think they ran pass seats or hood dogs on a lot of R models. use to see them alot around here. they have a nice restored B42T also thats red white and blue. was at the Syracuse show a few years back.
  7. sweet, love it! fav color to, GREEN. needs some 5 hole Alcoa's on the front and it would look like it drove out of 1968
  8. the black dump with the hood scoop. looks like it has a two inlet air cleaner and a hood scoop? whats the deal?
  9. Utica Mack kinda went to shit a little . kinda the same when the old Man is there but nothin like it use to be. i remember the lot being full of new r models when i was a kid. now you go by and on the New York thruway side, facing Rt90 is a F in Volvo under the Mack sign.theto use to have tons of stuff on hand. had a few trailer loads of new B models parts fenders, doors, bumpers into the late 80's. asked about them one time, guy said they scrapped alot of the NOS parts and sent a bunch back to Mack. makes you cry.
  10. yup, agree. never cared for either style R model latch. think they are both junk. Mack kinda went backwards from the good solid B model latch to the R model latch. trial and error
  11. kinda likin the satin finish on that red U model bumper
  12. knew a guy here in upstate ny that had about 10 of those Metros. was always gonna fix one up. ended up kickin the pail and his kid who knew everything about everything scrapped ever single one of them
  13. agree Leversole. didnt really get how that comment fit. we all love macks. its our god given right to bitch about the price of anything. im a cheap bastard myself but will splurge sometimes for truck parts.
  14. i talked to them at Springfield., really nice to deal with. they gave me a reasonable quote when i asked for rails. they told me Matt Pfahl gets all his rails from them for his Macks.
  15. if they are a new pair of Vise Grips made in china, they jaws are junk and probably wouldnt grip that tough Mack square door handle mechanism anyways. anyother good company gone to shit. id rather have an old pair of Vise Grips with a broken spring and a good jaw than the junk ones from China
  16. i remember the good old days, well Renault owned Mack at the time, going to the Mack dealer as a kid with my grandfather. thats when the Hilands owned Utica Mack and they werent a bunch of assholes. R models on the lot, mixed with those other things pushed off as Macks. they talked to you, even gave you the pin off their shirt. now if you dont have a Vin number and arent buyin a part for a brand new truck, they dont wanna deal with you unless they can sell you a pair of Mack mudflaps that dont even face each other, ugh!. god forbid they have to look something up. some of the old parts guys didnt even need a computer, could show them a part, go in back room and pick it off the shelf. back in the 80's when R, DM's and RM's were on the lot here in New York State.
  17. god those R800's are awesome. Cranesville block has a few old ones in their yard in Scotia. everything is for sale. they hav a list now on their website of trucks for sale. all the old mixers. i talked to one of the guys last summer and said i was a day late and dollar short. they just scrapped 6 B models. three mixers and three dump trucks,. all B61's and B53's i think. click http://www.cranesville.com/history.php# then go to the History heading and equipment for sale. there is a whole list. i think they junked everything pre 65 already.
  18. yup, that frame is junk. you should just sell it to me cheap haha joking. you should measure it up and call PG Adams. they are reasonable on rails, quoted me around 1300 bucks for 4 10 foot pieces of frame rail at Springfield. they are right across the border from us in Vermont to.. actually lookin for a tandem set of Mack air ride rears mysel at least 4.00 ration or less. id like to make the R609T im buildin a tandem with the 300+ and 10 speed roadranger.
  19. pretty sure the guy that lives down the road from me has an old North Penn r model. takes it to shows, was at the Syracuse show this year parked next to me, its cream colored and white, painted exactly the same as the one in the picture even down to the bumper.
  20. gonna try to bring my B to macungie this year. its only 4 hours. hell i did a 2 day round trip to ge tthe Mopar Mack. Macungie should be easy haha
  21. Dm looks good in pictures. looks like they painted over everything with red tho. brake lines, air lines, mudflaps, did it half ass. def a recab. has the old style heater tho that they painted beige. need a little detailing. nice truck tho.
  22. sweet. i remember apa runnin around New York State. also Red Star back in the day. gotta ask. whats the deal with the air cleaner on the apa r models? seems R models had a ton of different air cleaners over the years.
  23. damn B models. id trade the Mopar Mack for that white firetruck in a heartbeat. where the hell were they a few months ago when i was lookin for one? now they are everywhere cheap
  24. looks like an old prison bus. Yaworski's B model bus looks similar and like a prison bus to
