  1. not kiddin. wish i bought a truckload of B model parts from Tidewater years ago when they were REALLY cheap. least a few pallets of vent windows to sell haha. id be a millionair with the price i see for vent windows. glad i got a nos set from them years ago for my truck.
  2. would love to have a chrome shell for the firetruck im buildin but im sure i cant afford it haha and you have many interests.
  3. nothin like a road tractor converted dump truck with the box stickin too far past the end of the frame..
  4. yup, this has been discussed before in depth. Detroit Alpine green is nowhere near a B model interior color. the earlier B models were metallic and after around 62 i think it changed to a solid color. no two trucks were the same color anyways. it came in 55 gallon drums and i have never seen two B models the same color inside. there was a post not too long ago about this
  5. better brush the snow off the B model.... looks sad.
  6. yup, was gonna comment myself on the Nebraska State, the corn state with the garbage corn alcohol gas. have actually seen ONE station here in upstate Ny that sells non ethanol gas. 30 cents a gallon more than the garbage gas but at least it doesnt screw up your carburator or weed eator or lawn mower or snowmobile AND give you shitty mileage. pretty neat old pictures. everyone was skinny back then, AND seems everyone worked and was greasy.cars had style back then to. now you see a Chevy or Nissan or Ford or Toyota and they al have the same bodystyle
  7. is that an International Paystar grille in that one Brockway? nice to see people runnin old iron yet
  8. wow, EVERYONE up here in Ny sprays Diesel in the box haulin asphalt when no one is looking. haha shhhhhhhh
  9. exactly. titles really dont mean much on antique vehicles. least not in Ny. you are better off without a title and just havin a bill of sale is better or one you write up yourself so you dont have to pay all the taxes on it. least thats what i do haha
  10. k, jw, thanks for clearing that up. just always referred to the air to air plenum as a 300+. didnt know they made the 285 with one to, thought the 285's just had the air to air in front of the radiator.
  11. yup, road speed is also an issue. some of my great grandfathers B62 SX's would run 52 mph empty and 52mph loaded tho. 464 with 20 speed quads.
  12. believe the 464's, 540's and 707's were all good engines. def better than the flathead continentals in the smaller trucks. had more grunt than a 673 or 711 to. just different powerband with the gas jobs. wouldnt last as long as a diesel tho. just a little tough on fuel.
  13. ok the Tip turbine is the intercooler on the driver side right? the big Plenum that says Mack in block letters with a filter? thought those were only on the 300+ engines? maybe im confused
  14. yup 540's. like i said 3-5 on a good day haha
  15. pretty good powerwise. all the overhead valve gas Mack engines were. they had more grunt than a Diesel. fuel probably 3-5 miles a gallon on a good day haha.
  16. Sid Kamp has some nice B models. believe his B81 had 20'' or 22'' rubber which is odd but his B61SX has 24''?
  17. Roosevelt's Towing. They use to be a GM dealership so i assume the headlights were plentiful
  18. love all those B81. makes you sad to think that a few years ago Tidewater Mack use to sell bumpers, hoods and complete fender sets for those puppies. the good old days
  19. yup, he said it was a pain in the ass to put in tho cause the holes for the springs are about a half a hole off. it can be done. i remember the honey wagon at Macungie a few years back to. not sure if its the same one or not. the one i remmeber had a Pete battery box set up on it.
  20. noticed the small tank myself. looks to be off an old Wisconsin twin engine.
  21. depends if its NOS from the 60's or its just 'Good' parts. id pay top dollar for a NOS chrome shell
  22. we have an air starter on one of our trucks in the yard. sweet as hell. need to find a B model air tank for it tho as this one is smashed bad and leaks. weird truck, came from Mass, i remember it in the junkyard years ago . they took it as probably cause it broke down, single axle 673 with 9 speed overgear, someone swapped a gas rear in it so it must have been REALLY fast back in the day. has the bar with the rod going to the rear for the E brake. also must have gotten in an accident one time and someone put a new rail on pass side. it has NO vin number stamped. wasnt a prob til someone bought the cab and sheetmetal along with the door tag to make a rat rod out of and we bought the drivetrain for $250 and put it together with spare parts we had. need an air tank someday and maybe a vin tag for a 65 BLT so we can register it haha. sorry to hijack the thread. lets hear that thing run with those flappers on it !
  23. RCB right? opposite. haha .might get away with it if you put it on an Early style R model as i think it would be easy to adapt and most had the narrow front axle like a B model.
  24. mmmm B61sx with a turbo an quadbox and 24'' rubber
  25. yup, saw that last nite Mike and thought of you haha. was gonna post that but figured someone would get to it
